They ruled over reality, the spirit world, and the astral world. They were deities who ruled over various races and were truly deities, the ancient gods

Ancient Gods refer to the eight Ancient Gods of the Second Epoch. "They" ruled the world with the various Subsidiary Gods who followed "Them."

In the records of the City of Silver, the eight Ancient Gods were described as violent, evil, cruel, and terrifying.[1]

History[]

After the demise of the Primordial God Almighty and The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth, the world was filled with chaos and madness until Beyonder races eventually gained some rationality.[2] Over time, with the purification of Beyonder Characteristics, the major races evolved their own characters and civilizations, and eight Ancient Gods emerged one after another.

The world was ruled by the eight Ancient Gods, "They" ruled sky, land, and oceans. "They" also ruled over the Spirit World, the Astral World, and various races.[3]

"They" fought against each other in different camps; the quasi-humans, the non-humans, the devils, and the demonic wolves.[2]

All Ancient Gods dominated one of the 22 Standard Pathways, and some held additional authorities of other Pathways.

Three of the Ancient Gods perished at the end of The Early Era of Fire of the Second Epoch: the Sanguine Ancestor Lilith, the Mutated King Kvastir, and the Annihilation Demonic Wolf Flegrea.[4] The Devil Monarch Farbauti fled to the Abyss, and the Phoenix Ancestor Gregrace fled to the Southern Continent.[5] The rest—the Dragon of Imagination Ankewelt, the Elf King Soniathrym, and the Giant King Aurmir—fell at the hands of the Ancient Sun God at the end of the Second Epoch.

Characteristics[]

The Ancient Gods didn’t advance according to the Pathway System, but were born directly for some unknown reason. "Their" characteristics were a mix of Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristics from other Pathways, or even more than one. "They" are known for "Their" madness, cruelty, violence, and bloodlust because in most cases, "Their" characteristics are from non-neighboring Pathways. There’s a significant difference between Ancient Gods and subsequent True Gods, but this doesn’t mean that "They" are weak. "They" might even be stronger.[6]

According to the author, the absence of an ascension ritual is one aspect that led to the cognition collapse/breakdown of the Ancient Gods, while the heterocoagulation of Beyonder Characteristics (i.e., the process where non-neighboring Beyonder Characteristics coagulate together) is another aspect. However, "Their" apotheosis is indeed at the deity level. In addition, they are stronger than the True Gods of the current time.[7]

Trivia[]

  • The term "Ancient Gods" (古神) is also referred to as the Elder Gods or Elder Deities in the Cthulhu Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft. They are a type of deities, and they oppose the Outer Gods and the Great Old Ones. In Cthulhu Mythos, they are no more concerned for human notions of "good" and "evil" than the beings they oppose and consider humans to be less than fleas although they can be sympathetic to humanity on occasion and their interests usually coincide with our own.[9][10]
