History[]
Angoulême initially appeared in response to the evil spirit of Susanna Matisse at Auberge du Coq Doré Hotel.[2]
Later, he inspected "Rat" Christo's warehouse as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the police to confront and handle the mirror people in Christo's group.[3]
He appeared after Hugues Artois was assassinated.[4] He appeared just in time for the Tree of Shadow incident.
He announced that Guillaume Bénet’s dead body had been found at 50 Rue Vincent in Quartier de la Princesse, during a meeting in the underground of Église Saint-Robert.[5]
He, Imre and Valentine later visited the Deep Valley Cloister.[6] They discovered that someone had made off with the valuable items there. Imre guessed that the entrustee’s companion must have sensed trouble and moved out. In their further investigation, they found evidence related to Albert Goncourt who was the mastermind behind Trier’s uprising six years ago and a leader of an anti-government military faction, Carbonari. After finding a door in the cellar, they used the key they obtained from Jenna to enter and discovered an altar related to the Circle of Inevitability.[7]
During The Hostel ritual, the Purifiers were dispersed throughout Trier due to the news of strikes, marches and protests.[8] Angoulême along with Imre and Valentine were heading towards Église Saint-Robert when explosions started occurring.[9]
After meeting up with Jenna to get information on the events of The Hostel, he learnt that Ciel Dubois and Lumian Lee were the same person. Thus he interrogated Charlie regarding his ties to Lumian. While the usual punishment for hiding such details would be dismissal or imprisonment, Angoulême was impressed with Charlie's work and hence only placed him on a six-month probation.[10]
Due to Angoulême's performance in the market district, he was given the opportunity to become a deacon in the Trier diocese and lead a team of his own. He recruited Imre into the team, but left out Valentine due to him having a family, as Angoulême believed that those who are single should bear the risks,[10]
When Franca and the others planned an operation against Moran Avigny, Franca reached out to Angoulême for information about the security of high-ranking government officials. Angoulême offered to discreetly cooperate with them if they had sufficient reason for their actions and if he was told the name of the target.[11] After the attack on Moran Avigny in his villa, Angoulême was sent to the villa to investigate.
