The interview with Cuttlefish That Loves Diving took place on November 26th, 2021, as a livestream where fans submitted questions via chat.
Q&A[]
Q1: Will <Lord of Mystereis> have a Book Two? (Time Stamp: 13:25)
Cuttlefish: LoM is definitely going to have a Book Two, because the world setting is large enough, if I don't write LoM 2 based on this world setting, it is considered a waste for writers like myself.
Q2: When will LoM Book Two be released? (Time Stamp: 16:50)
Cuttlefish: The release date of LoM 2 is generally set for after the Spring Festival in 2023. Ember Ad Infinitum is expected to conclude in June 2022, followed by the customary six-month rest period. (Therefore, the release date will be sometime after January 27th, 2023.)
Q3: How long exactly will Klein be slumbering? (Time Stamp: 18:52)
Cuttlefish: Klein is probably going to awake in the later portion of Book Two. As we all know heroes always wake up at critical moments.
Q4: What is the source of inspiration of LoM? (Time Stamp: 20:12)
Cuttlefish: It was a side arc/instance dungeon in my web novel <The Sage Who Transcended Samsara>. <The Sage Who Transcended Samsara> used a writing style that's very similar to <Terror Infinity>, and one of the instances the characters experienced was Cthulhu-themed. From that, some inspirations were born and became the building block for LoM later on.
Q5: What is the Tarot Club's role in the story of Book Two? (Time Stamp: 21:06)
Cuttlefish: In Book Two, Tarot Club will be a mysterious, "high-end, sophisticated, and classy" organization. However, this is just one possible direction of the story and plot, I may or may not use this direction in the finalized ideas.
Q6: Will there be no CP/pairings in Book Two? (Time Stamp: 22:02)
Cuttlefish: Because of the fundamental atmosphere and setting of the LoM world, which is chaos and insanity. It's either going to be no pairings, or it has to be desperate love in moments of life and death induced by life-threatening situations and imminent eternal partings.
Q7: Why was the Victorian Era selected to be the stage on which LoM's world setting was inlaid? (Time Stamp: 22:41)
Cuttlefish: The Victorian Era is a period in which Cuttlefish love a lot. On one hand, it is a classic era that includes the First Industrial Revolution, making it a symbol of humanity's civilization. On the other hand, LoM's world setting draws significant inspiration from the Lovecraftian mythos, and the birth of Cthulhu and related legends coincidentally occurred during the later period of the Victorian Era. Both LoM and Lovecraftian works are relatively compatible in terms of world and time settings. Lastly, the element of steampunk also fits well with the Victorian Era background.
Q8: Will Klein's humanity be restored to an even greater extent against divinity, since he was revealed to have reached an initial balance at the end of Book One? If so what story/plot point will be the one to stimulate the further restoration of his humanity? (Time Stamp: 24:09) (Fan note: Also, in the past interview we know that after attaining Godhood, one can only retain portions of one's strongest emotions in one's humanity.)
Cuttlefish: I have not considered this question, I will have to gradually accumulate inspiration for it.
Q9: What is Cuttlefish's method of looking up information for your writing? (Time Stamp: 32:30)
Cuttlefish: Q&A forums and sites, online bookstores, and E-Books.
Q10: What is cuttlefish's attitude towards fan fictions and creations? (Time Stamp: 37:40)
Summary: Cuttlefish is relatively open and welcoming towards fan fictions. However, he will usually not read any, this is because it might affect his creation thought process.
Q11: In LoM Book Two, will there be "Big Shot" or "Boss" type characters from the Western Continent making an appearance? (Time Stamp: 1:02:19)
Cuttlefish: There may be one important "big shot" character from the Western Continent who will appear. But that character will not have a major role and will not exert too much influence on the story of Book Two. This character's primary function is to thread the story and plot of Book Three into Book Two. There will be a certain amount of script/content around this character, but it won't be a lot.
Q12: What is the style of the Western Continent? (Time Stamp: 1:02:54)
Cuttlefish: Leaning towards oriental/east style. It will be a style that organizes oriental mythology and legends (xianxia and immortals), folk customs and folklores, urban legends, and creepypastas. All of which complied with the world setting and power system of LoM.
Q13: The Amon who does not smoke, does he drink alcohol? (Time Stamp: 1:03:25)
Cuttlefish: Some Amons drink, while others don't. For example, the Postman Amon does not drink, but the Bartender Amon can drink and mix drinks well.
Q14: Will important characters from Book One die in Book Two? (Time Stamp: 1:03:44)
Cuttlefish: Currently, I haven't thought about this question.
Q15: Will Amon be returning in Book Two? (Time Stamp: 1:04:01)
Cuttlefish: Yes.
Q16: Will you be writing bonus chapters/EXTRA/side stories about Roselle? (Time Stamp: 1:04:26)
Cuttlefish: Roselle is more fitting to be a character who's described and told through stories indirectly, from a side-portrait perspective. Writing about Roselle directly as the main character in a bonus chapter format will most likely result in difficulties of publication. Since the content will have a hard time passing editor inspection. (LOL)
Q17: Which country (nationality) is Ancient Sun God from? (Time Stamp: 1:05:13)
Cuttlefish: (Did not answer directly) Why are the questions getting more and more sensitive? (laughs) I mean, not the question itself is sensitive. But, the answer may become sensitive. host moves on to the next question
(Windvally: So ASG is either Russian or American. Per his concern of sensitivity, I can say with 98% confidence that ASG is probably American. Cuttlefish is smart to not answer directly, just in case overly patriotic haters and his career opponents use that against him and start a political correct-ness internet trend on him. From past interviews, we only know Evernight is European. )
Reminder: Remember the channel rules and let's not start a political debate over this (doge)
Q18: Will LoM release world-setting bonus chapters or physical books? (Time Stamp: 1:05:42)
Cuttlefish: There indeed will be content in regards to world settings. However, information such as the formulas of the sequences is not finished yet. I still need to fill in the remaining 140-150 sequence formulas that are currently incomplete/non-existent. When I am taking the six-month break after Ember Ad infinitum, I will consider doing the work at that time.
Q19: Will there be Mrs. Amon or Lady Amon in the Amon Family? (Time Stamp: 1:06:08)
Cuttlefish: About that....I think it's better to leave that to your guys' imagination. Leave some space for creativity for yourselves.
Q20: What were Cuttlefish's emotions/feelings when creating Amon? (Time Stamp: 1:08:01)
Cuttlefish: In the beginning, I wanted to create a villain who is powerful, whose style is both mysterious and prankster-ish, who is a threat with a drop of entertainment. When Amon was first introduced onto the stage, it was very traumatic and scary. I was not expecting this character's image to become so popular among the readers.
