"Magic Mirror" Arrodes is a Sealed Artifact with powerful divination abilities, great knowledge, and ability to manipulate lightning.

Amon has mentioned that Arrodes is not an ordinary artifact. Arrodes remembers that it was formed by some black liquid gushing out of the earth and splashing onto a piece of rock. Klein suspected it was from the Chaos Sea.

Appearance

It looks like a silver mirror with ancient patterns on the back and an eye-like pattern on each side at the front. It is 22 centimeters in height.

Personality

Arrodes can sense a support and dominance from Klein. This similarity gave it warm feelings and made him want to return and submit to it. Since the first time they met, Arrodes has been bootlicking Klein, calling Klein the honorable existence/ruler above the spirit world, and have said things like "return to your throne", or "recover your authority".

He is also afraid of prying into the secret of great entities like the Outer Deities, he is also afraid of the Evernight Goddess. It was also traumatized when Amon extracted the informations "He" needed from it.

History

Lord of Mysteries

Arrodes first appeared in the novel when Ikanser Bernard used it to ask about the fight between Klein, Sharron, Maric, and the Rose School of Thought Beyonders. It was also used by Ikanser to help with the Jason Beria case.

It later got into contact with Klein in his dream, showing him the Machinery Hivemind's exploration of Amon Family's Underground Tomb.

Arrodes can sense a pillar, support, and domination aura from Klein. It even initiated a connection to Klein's radio transceiver when Klein traveled to the Sonia Sea. It offered to be Klein's "humble and loyal servant" and since then Klein had been gaining much hard-to-get knowledge from Arrodes.

After Klein returned to Backlund in the identity of Dwayne Dantès, Arrodes gave him a mixture of secrecy and mystery prying symbol that can be used to summon Arrodes as long as he is in Backlund.

Arrodes had a serious mental trauma after being tortured by Amon. It changed font colors automatically, gave the wrong answer, and requested Klein to praise it when questioned. Arrodes decided to stay in the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery for a longer period of time for safety. It even showed its harmfulness and successfully enjoyed the treatment of a Grade 1 Sealed Artifact in advance.

Klein speculated that Arrodes originated from the Chaos Sea, one of the nine Sefirot left behind by the Original Creator.

After the war between the Gods, Klein took it from the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery after talking with Bornova Gustav when they were moving their Sealed Artifacts from Loen Kingdom to Intis Republic.

Klein lost Arrodes after he was captured by Adam and successfully escaped from Adam's Corpse Cathedral. Then Adam used Arrodes to connect to the Chaos Sea in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. Adam left Arrodes to the Angel of Fate Ouroboros. Arrodes asked Ouroboros to return it to Klein. Later Klein went to the Forsaken Land of the Gods and brought it back.

At the end of the book, Klein brought Arrodes with him to the door of light, when he decided to go to sleep to fight against the will of The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth.

Circle of Inevitability

By 1358, Arrodes is indirectly mentioned by Franca Roland to be a reliable party during magic mirror divination. Arrodes' punishment once humiliated novice-Witch Franca in front of Xio.

In The Fool's Dream, Arrodes was placed for sale at 5 million in Star Dream Provisions Store, a store run by the Evernight Goddess. It claimed to Lumian Lee that it was "very friendly to everyone who enters the dream and wants to awaken Mr. Fool".

Power

Arrodes is a highly intelligent sealed artifact capable of answering the user's questions. It has shown to have great prying ability, making it know a lot of things that are happening around the world. Even for the questions regarding gods, it appears to know the answer but doesn't dare to show it in the mirror. In addition, it also has great knowledge of the spirit world, allowing it to answer questions even when the user does not have much background information.

It is able to extend its power on other objects, for example, Klein's radio transceiver (with the gray fog's aura), or other mirrors in Backlund while its true body stays in some basement of the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery. It can be summoned through the mixture of secrecy and mystery prying symbols, as long as he is in Backlund. It's also able to make sounds, mimicking others' voices.

It can also summon lightning to punish others who are not answering their question or lying about it.

Downside

After every question, Arrodes will force the user to answer a question or perform a task. This question is generally embarrassing or sensitive in nature. Someone must be present to witness the act in order for Arrodes to be used. If the user does not answer the question, they will receive a lightning strike as punishment.

If you asked about an unsolved mathematical problem or a classical paradox, it could directly reject you. If it thinks that you have ill intentions, it will even give you a lightning strike or make you suffer a curse. When using it, it’s best not to think about trying to find loopholes.

Klein seems to have a special affinity with Arrodes, enabling him to use it without suffering any downsides. That being said Arrodes still need to ask question in return, it can't escape this rule, but it will ask Moreover, Arrodes will seemingly volunteer useful information to Klein, calling him its master. This has to do with Klein's authority over the Sefirah Castle.

• Based of Qidian, Arrodes' birthday falls on February 28th.
• Much like normal mirrors, Arrodes also has an entrance to the Mirror World in it. However, this entrance is a bit different from other mirrors. The surrounding dark void was deeper, but it also seemed covered by an invisible cloth. Behind the cloth, pairs of eyes were watching, and inexplicable things were silently flowing.
