Benson Moretti is the eldest Moretti sibling. He single-handedly raised his younger brother Klein and his younger sister Melissa, keeping the family from slipping into poverty after their parents’ deaths. He is a civilian and was unaware of Klein’s true job as a Nighthawk until Melissa rose to become a Mid-Sequence Beyonder by The Apocalypse.
Appearance[]
Benson is above-average looking. He is twenty-five, but his receding hairline and decrepit appearance made him look nearly thirty. He has black hair and brown eyes, resembling Klein somewhat, but lacking the faint scholarly air which Klein had.
Personality[]
Benson is hard-working and plainspoken, as well as unexpectedly genial and polite for a dockworker. While a little regretful that he wasn’t able to complete his education, he feels no shame about his blue-collar background. Although he is the nominal head of the Moretti family, he is often willing to defer to Klein and Melissa’s opinions due to their higher educations.
History[]
He was a resident of the apartment that Mr. Franky owned. Later, he passed the first round of the Civil Servant Unified Examination in a relatively uncompetitive position. He went to Backlund with Melissa in early 1350 for the second round of the exam and to find a new job there. He got a job at the Ministry of Finance.[4]
During the 1350 World War, Benson showed his experience and talent in the Ministry of Finance, being promoted many times and becoming the deputy director of the Fifth Department with an annual salary of 300 pounds.[3]
He finally married a young lady named Lucy Brook by 1352.[1] They have a daughter years later.[2]
He later became a Beyonder of the Black Emperor Pathway because of The Apocalypse.[6]

- After The Apocalypse, he and Melissa are famed within the Transmigrator Beyonder circle as the living relatives of a fellow countryman.[6]
