— A man giving the potion formula Priest of Light to a sun believer on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 686 |
The Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun was officially founded after the Cataclysm in the Third Epoch. They claimed to be one of the earliest Orthodox Churches that had helped humanity through the Cataclysmic Era.
This organization is in control of the Sun Pathway and is one of the Eight Orthodox Churches. Along with the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, they are influential throughout the Intis Republic. The country dominated by the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun is at the forefront of the world in the art of gold.
The headquarters as well as their main cathedral, Saint Viève Cathedral, are located in Island District, Trier.[1]
Their relationships with the Church of the Lord of Storms, and the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom are poor. The three churches see each other as enemies.[2]

History[]
The main domain of this church is in the Intis Republic, along with the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery.
Starting in 1194, after Roselle discovered a new safer sea route to the Southern Continent, this discovery jumpstarted the colonization of the Southern Continent, and the Orthodox Churches began to spread their influence there. The church, along with the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, has domains in West Balam and the Highlands Kingdom.
In the World War, the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun was on the Intis Republic's side. Eventually, the Loen Kingdom won the war, which weakened the Church's influence in the Highlands Kingdom and West Balam and made other churches take advantage of the opportunity to expand their reach there.[5][6]
After The Apocalypse, among the remaining orthodox churches, only the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery maintained its former influence. The Churches of the Eternal Blazing Sun, Lord of Storms, Earth Mother, and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom still existed but had become secondary choices with limited influence. The Angel of Fate Ouroboros also merged the Aurora Order with the Eternal Blazing Sun Church, turning the Aurora Order into the shadow under the sun's rays, handling tasks inconvenient for clergy, and executing acts of punishment.[7]

The Order of Preachers[]
Made up of clergymen and the Purifiers of the Inquisition who were dedicated to the cruel persecution and purification of heretics, cultists, and wild Beyonders, all in the name of promoting the orthodox teachings of the Eternal Blazing Sun.
The Brotherhood Minor[]
Also known as the Alms Monk Brotherhood.
They mainly concentrated in the cloisters, with a few clergymen among their ranks. They espoused temperance, begging for food and ascetic training, preaching in various poor places, all with the aim of spreading the faith of the Eternal Blazing Sun.
Nine Sisters Association[]
An alliance formed by nuns of the Church, working hand in hand with the Brotherhood Minor.[8]
Enforcement Division[]
Inquisition[]
A division formed of Beyonders from the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun, they usually act undercover as law enforcement. They primarily deal with Beyonder related crimes, cults, and influences.
Festivals[]
The Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun doesn't have many festivals, and the most important one is the Sun Sacrifice. The rest are just normal masses and prayers on weekends. However, different dioceses and different cathedrals have their own special festivals.
Sun Sacrifice[]
The Sun Sacrifice was a recurring festival for the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun, marking the day with the longest daylight of the year when the sun reached its zenith at noon.
In the Northern Continent, it took place in mid-to-late June, while in the Southern Continent, due to the reversed seasons, it occurred in mid-to-late December.
New Sun Festival[]
The New Sun Festival originates from the believers of the Southern Continent's Eternal Blazing Sun; it involves celebrations during the longest nights and shortest days, welcoming the return of the sun and anticipating more light and warmer weather.
This celebration took place in June, which often coincided with the New Year in many parts of the Southern Continent, gradually merging the two festivities.[14]
