May the Storm be with you!

— A standard salute of the Storms believer
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 41

The Church of the Lord of Storms was officially founded after the Cataclysm in the Third Epoch. They claimed to be one of the earliest Orthodox Churches that had helped humanity through the Cataclysmic Era.

This organization is in control of the Tyrant Pathway and is one of the Eight Orthodox Churches. Along with the Church of the Evernight Goddess and the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, the three churches are influential throughout the Loen Kingdom. However, after the war, Church of the God of Steam and Machinery lost its influence and was expelled from the Kingdom. In addition, because of this church's control of the Tyrant Pathway, they also have a strong influence over the islands of the Rorsted Archipelago and the Sonia Sea.

The headquarters, as well as their holy altar, is the Chasm of Storms Cathedral. It had been located in Backlund until the end of the Fourth Epoch, then they shifted their holy altar to Pasu Island in the Sonia Sea only after the establishment of the Loen Kingdom.

Their relationships with the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun, and the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom are poor. The three churches see each other as enemies.[2]

The Church of the Lord of Storms has Council of Cardinals which make up the upper echelons of the church, and they have direct control over the Mandated Punishers. The Church uses the Azure Gate to contain various Sealed Artifacts.

The church, along with the Church of the Evernight Goddes, has domains in East Balam.

During the World War in 1350, the Church of the Lord of Storms was the main defender of the Rorsted Archipelago. However, in 1351, the war progressed further, and the main battlefield was moved to Backlund, with Danitz as Sea God's Oracle helping, the Resistance made an agreement with the Church and the Military of the Loen Kingdom. The agreement consisted of independence for the natives to administer their local affairs and the belief of the Church of the Sea God. In return, the Resistance would protect the interests of the Loen migrants in the Rorsted Archipelago from the invasion of the Feysac Empire, the Feynapotter Kingdom, and the Intis Republic. This will allow the Church and military to return to Backlund where the war was more concentrated.[5]

After the war, the Resistance managed to keep the governing position they had taken over. They let the Church of the Lord of Storms and the Church of the Fool stay as the main religions there, along with their Church of the Sea God.

After The Apocalypse, among the remaining orthodox churches, only the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery maintained its former influence. The Churches of the Eternal Blazing Sun, Lord of Storms, Earth Mother, and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom still existed but had become secondary choices with limited influence.[6]
