“ | This (pupil color change) is a physical manifestation of the potion’s powers. When you learn Cogitation and how to converge your power, your eyes will return to normal. |

— Old Neil to Klein Moretti on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 32 |
Cogitation, also called Meditation, is the state and act of spiritually concentrating on a certain target (object/scene/being) to centralize the thoughts and retain rational focus. It is highly used with Spirit Vision and a fundamental skill in mysticism. Cogitation is highly used by Beyonders of the spiritual side, such as: the Fool, Door, Hermit and Visionary Pathways.
Description[]
Lord of Mysteries[]
The initial steps of Cogitation is relatively simple. It’s even more so for Beyonders, For Sequence 9 novices, upon drinking a potion, the consumer must think of an object in the mind, something common, simple and easy. For the object, the Beyonder should place all focus on it with repetition while creating the outlines. The first step of Cogitation: producing an object in your mind to divert your attention and turning the (potion, etc) energy seepage inwards. After entry, one can develop to see colors which represent the entry of Spirit Vision.[1] Cogitation has to be carried on every day. Only more practice and usage will allow the Beyonder to grasp the power of the potion, digging into the mysteries it hides away and removing its unpleasant effects.[2]
“ | Entry: Let your brain go somewhat blank. Exchange the object you imagined. Use something that does not exist in this world, an object you imagine completely out of thin air. You have to follow this rule. Only by doing so can you enter Cogitation, only then can you exceed the concept of ‘I.’ The limitless ‘I’ will be become one with the universe, giving you the ability to see and understand the truth. You will obtain knowledge only you yourself can understand. |

Even without Cogitation, certain Beyonders are able to use Spirit Vision.[3] Cogitation is an effective method to self-calm down a Beyonder.[4] It is also used to focus the mind and control oneself for and during Ritualistic Magic.[5][6] As well as establish spiritual walls with silver blades.[7] Some even use Cogitation to aid sleep by inducing a dream-like state.[8]
“ | Exit: Like before, think of an item to divert your attention. It will bring you out of Cogitation. Close your eyes and control your spirituality and repeatedly tell it to end. When you open your eyes again, you will discover that your Spirit Vision has ended. Of course, that is the most trivial and clumsy method. We can repeatedly hint to ourselves in Cogitation from practice to affect our spirituality. That way, you will have a simple switch. For instance, tapping at your glabella twice lightly would allow you easily activate Spirit Vision. Another two taps will simply end it. As for how you set it up, it depends on your habits and preferences. |

"After consuming the potion, quickly begin Cogitation to control your spirituality and energy… Make sure to practice every day to truly grasp the powers of the potion. Dig out the meaning it symbolizes and even more of its mysteries. That way, you can avoid the danger of losing control to the greatest extent. And the meaning of a potion mainly lies in its name!"

Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 34
"Normal animals do not have the brains of humans. They wouldn’t be able to learn Cogitation in a timely manner. Therefore, it would most likely lead to immediate death or a breakdown into a monster. However, if they survived the initial ingestion of the potion, they should become an extraordinary creature. If the potion has the ability to enhance their intelligence, they can even become smarter."

Circle of Inevitability[]
Unlike Mystery Pryers and Seers, Hunters need the help of other items before reaching Sequence 7 to conduct Cogitation. For example, incense to calm one's emotions and make oneself ethereal, or a crystal ball to help focus on one's spirituality.[9]
For Lumian Lee, he unintentionally had a first half-step Cogitation by picturing a crimson sun. Under Aurore Lee's guidance, he completes the second half-step. When he imagines the Sun, retract his spirit and enter a relatively calm state. Let his mind be slightly empty. Draw an outline of something that doesn’t exist in reality to replace the Sun. Keep drawing and repeating until his body and mind obtain peace. His thoughts will have a feeling that they are floating. Later, Aurore instructed Lumian to use Cogitation to stop his Spirit Vision from deactivating and to establish simple activation and deactivation triggers.[10]
The target of Cogitation does not have to be static, even reverting back to a previous target is doable.[11]
