The Concerto of Light and Shadow is a grade 1 Sealed Artifact currently in the possession of the Church of the Evernight Goddess. Its abilities corresponds to the Justiciar Pathway's Sequence 4, Imperative Mage and the Black Emperor Pathway's Sequence 4, Earl of the Fallen.[1]
Appearance[]
It has the appearance of an iron-skinned pocket watch.
On the watch's face, half of it is filled with neatly arranged symbols that followed the order of time, while the other half is a chaotic mess. It even intruded into the neighboring region. On both sides, it seemed impossible to see the machinery behind them as they formed into a structure that looked even more complex and headache-inducing.[2]
History[]
It was previously used by MI9 Brigadier General Qonas Kilgor to fight against Klein who had the assistance of Ma'am Arianna.
The Concerto of Light and Shadow was previously owned by the MI9 Brigadier General, Qonas kilgor. Klein became aware of it after talking with Arrodes who warned him about the 3 Sealed artifacts Qonas had with him. On Arrodes' advice, Klein asked Ma'am Arianna's to first curse Qonas Kilgor with misfortune, thus turning the artifact's negative effect of this artifact in his favor.[2]
Qonas lost the battle and became Klein's marionette. Arianna came and took the Concerto of Light and Shadow with "Her" with the reason it was given by George Augustus III, there might be clues that can be inferred from its earlier origin. Klein didn't have complaints about that, and he even believed that it was only right. After all, half of the battle’s success was due to "Her" contribution with the concealed world and "blessing" Qonas with misfortune. In the event that "She" didn’t take the Concerto of Light and Shadow, Klein would have mentioned it himself.[3]

The Concerto of Light and Shadow contain a mix of Beyonder abilities from the Black Emperor and Justiciar Pathway.
It can restrict certain actions in a particular area, and it can also strip certain Beyonder powers from the target. When the two are put together, the limitations that are created far exceed the two types.
The Concerto of Light and Shadow is also able to 'gift' certain negative side effects to the target, making him sluggish; eager; avaricious; or lose their fighting spirit, only capable of focusing his attention on money.
The user would have the ability to distort the target's speech, actions, intentions, and attacks. It can reduce a lethal blow into a serious injury, or it could repel an attack, turning progression into retrogression, escaping into leading a charge.
Downside[2][]
The negative effects of Concerto of Light and Shadow are rather serious. Amongst them, the main negative effect is that once it's brought into combat, all the Beyonder effects produced in a certain region would intermittently experience random anomalies. It wouldn't distinguish between friend or foe, making it hard to control and unpredictable. That also means that a Lightning Strike for exemple might still create a bolt of lightning, but it might splash the target with a blast of cold water or summon unknown spirit world creatures.
Its negative effect could be countered, or even become beneficial, by using Beyonder items/abilities that affect luck.
