Old Neil: "Why are we only protecting
dragons and giants? It should be called
Fantastic Beasts Protection Association."

Klein Moretti: "No, no, no.
How can we forget those poor plants?"
They exchanged looks and proclaimed in unison: "Fantastic Organisms Protection Association!"

Old Neil and Klein Moretti
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 21

This article describes some of the many different kinds of extraordinary creatures and plants found throughout the world of Lord of Mysteries and Circle of Inevitability.

Normal animals do not have the brains of humans. They wouldn’t be able to learn Cogitation in a timely manner. Therefore, it would most likely lead to immediate death or a breakdown into a monster if they consumed a Beyonder Characteristic or potion. However, if they survived the initial ingestion, they would become a Beyonder Creature. If the potion has the ability to enhance their intelligence, they can even become smarter.[1]

Extraordinary creatures and plants are different. As a result of exposure to Beyonder powers for extended periods of time, bestowal of boons, or other reasons, various species as a whole have evolved to possess beyonder abilities since birth.[2][3]

Many of these species have gradually gone extinct in the Northern Continent. Over the past few centuries, dragons, giants, and elves have become simply records in books. Even the sea folk are no longer seen near the coastal waters.[4]

Land Creatures[]

Beastmen[]

A variety of creatures like humans and beasts. They have gone extinct after the Cataclysm.[5]

Bizarro Bane[]

Also called "Shapeshifter" in the City of Silver, it is monster found in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. Such monsters do not come equipped with the intelligence to communicate, but they are adept at setting up traps to deal with targets. Furthermore, they can disguise themselves as others, using what seemed like fascinating methods to complete a hunt.[6]

Its appearance is a blurry, transparent shadow with a ghostly-blue single eye. Around the eye are similar but smaller eyes. As soon as they obtain the true soul body of the Spirit World Plunderer, they can turn into a complete Bizarro Sorcerer.[7]

Its main eye and blood are ingredients of the Sequence 4, Bizarro Sorcerer potion.[8]

Black Hunting Spider[]

A black spider-like creature having only one pair of eyes, with each eye containing numerous tiny single eyes moving independently, radiating a cold and eerie light. Its composite eye is a main ingredient of the Sequence 6, Conspirer potion.[9]

Blue Shadow Falcon[]

A blue bird of prey that resembles a shadow. According to Alger, it is a terrifying Beyonder creature. Its crystalline feathers are one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 6, Wind-blessed potion.[10][11]

Demonic Wolf[]

Demonic Wolves were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Annihilation Demonic Wolf Flegrea. According to the Myth of Creation, Demonic Wolves evolved from the ears of The Original Creator.[12] They appear as wolves with eight legs.

Dark Demonic Wolf[]

The Dark Demonic Wolves are a type of high-level Demonic Wolves born in the Fool Pathway. Their heart and blood are ingredients of the Sequence 2, Miracle Invoker potion.[13] A famous Dark Demonic Wolf is the 'God of Wishes' Kotar.

Demonic Wolf of Fog[]

The Demonic Wolves of Fog are a type of high-level Demonic Wolves. After the death of the ancient gods and the Cataclysm, and with them being hunted by the Antigonus Family, Zaratul Family, and the Church of the Evernight Goddess, they are extremely rare now. Furthermore, they are all good at anti-divination and deceit. They are not easy to find.[14]

Their transformed heart and White Frost Crystal are the ingredients of the Sequence 3, Scholar of Yore potion.[15]

Gray Demonic Wolf[]

The Gray Demonic Wolves are a type of mid-level Demonic Wolves related to the Red Priest Pathway. Their front claws and blood are ingredients of the Sequence 5, Reaper potion.[16]

Devil[]

Devils, also called Demons, were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Devil Monarch Farbauti. According to the Myth of Creation, Devils evolved from the stomach, small and large intestines, and evil parts of The Original Creator.[12]

The Sequence 6 of the Abyss Pathway is also called Devil. Beyonders who reach this level experience a qualitative transformation and change from their former species into true Devils. Devils from various races each possess their distinct abilities. Even among devils originating from the same race, differences arise due to their individual nature.[17]

Shadow-Shifter[]

It is a kind of devil with the ability to abandon their own bodies and only leave a shadow behind when forced into a life-threatening situation.

Wraith Devil[]

An unnamed breed of special demon that can switch freely between body and spirit like a wraith, but they are quite rare.

Dragon[]

Dragons were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Dragon of Imagination Ankewelt. According to the Myth of Creation, Dragons evolved from the heart of The Original Creator.[12]

They were one of the ruling races along with the giants during the Dual Era.[18]

They all look like magnified lizards, and their entire bodies are covered in scales of different colors. Their four limbs are thick and powerful, and their wings are wide enough to drive their giant bodies to flight. They are the rulers of the sky. The dragons were mortal enemies of the Giants under the Giant King.

They have a myriad of abilities, some have the ability to breathe fire, others the ability to command lightning, bring corrosion, or even creating frost. But these are not mainstream among the dragons.[19] Most dragons are creatures with flesh and blood; including mind dragons.

According to Ariehogg, including himself, there are only three dragons from the Second Epoch remaining.[20] There was a village that had the customs of dragon worship in East Chester County.[21]

Frost Dragon[]

Dragons with the power of frost.[?]

Mind Dragon[]

They are the main type of dragons and have powers of the Visionary Pathway. The high sequence Mind Dragons can allow themselves to survive and swim through the Sea of Collective Subconscious.[22]

They are long lizard-like monsters. Their entire body is covered with huge scales that are like grayish-white stone slabs. They have four thick and powerful legs, and their eyes are pale-gold with vertical pupils, looking cold and arrogant.[23]

Elf[]

Elves were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Elf King Soniathrym. According to the Myth of Creation, the Elves evolved from the lung of The Original Creator.[12]

They have humanoid forms, slightly sharp ears, and are suspected to have evolved from humans.[24][2] They look different from beings of the Northern Continent.[25] Most of them are Beyonders of the Tyrant Pathway, and they are now basically extinct.

There is a legend that elves originated from the Western Continent where the first-generation elves were born.[26] They are good at using chopsticks and like to eat animal organs and blood. There are stories of their ancient god being good at identifying and using spices.[27]

Magma Elf[]

The Magma Elves are a type of Elves related to the Red Priest Pathway. Their core is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 7, Pyromaniac potion.[28]

Feathered Serpent[]

According to the Myth of Creation, Feathered Serpents evolved from the kidneys of The Original Creator.[12]

Their appearance is of a humongous serpent. It has dark green scales with exaggerated eyes that seemed to burn with fire. Between its scales were white feathers covered in yellow oily stains. Along its back is a pair of thick wings that could be spread.

In the Southern Continent, it was called "Quetzalcoatl"[Note 1] This serpent is spoken of in myths[29] and is a symbol of holiness. It is the emblem of the descendants of Death, the Eggers Family.[30] They are also the mythical creature form of the Death Pathway.

Giant[]

Giants were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Giant King Aurmir. According to the Myth of Creation, giants evolved from the heart of The Original Creator.[12]

They were one of the ruling races along with the dragons during the Dual Era.[31]

They are humanoid creatures, and are suspected to have evolved from humans.[24][2] They have grayish-blue skin with a single vertical eye and are nearly four meters tall.[25] Most of them are Beyonders of the Twilight Giant Pathway, and they are now basically extinct.

There were still many giants active in the Fourth Epoch. Some of them had switched faiths to the God of Combat, while the others were left scattered, becoming hunting targets of humans. It was likely that giants were sources of Beyonder ingredients for the potion system or were anchors for the Giant King Aurmir, thus leading to them being hunted. One of the tribes built a ship in that Epoch and tried to find the lost Giant King’s Court at sea, never to return.[32]

Human-Skinned Shadow[]

The Human-Skinned Shadow is relatively easy to encounter being in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. It is one of the scarier monsters in the depths of the darkness.[33]

Its characteristic is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 6, Faceless potion.[34]

Mutant[]

Mutants were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Mutated King Kvastir. According to the Myth of Creation, Mutants evolved from the mouth and teeth of The Original Creator.[12]

Mutant is also the general term for humans under the negative effects of certain Beyonder characteristics. Due to the different curses, Mutants transformed into different races. Their desires erupt when they come into contact with a certain scene or object. They become monsters, succumbing to their desires for blood and massacre.[35][36]

Phoenix[]

Phoenixes were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Phoenix Ancestor Gregrace. According to the Myth of Creation, Phoenixes evolved from the hair of The Original Creator.[12]

Rainbow Salamander[]

In ancient times, it was called the "Phantom Netherdrake". They are Beyonder creatures that are nearly extinct and you can only find traces of them in primitive islands in the Fog Sea, the Berserk Sea, or the Sonia Sea.[37]

It is a giant lizard whose skin changed color depending on how the light hit it. It is three meters long.[38] Its pituitary gland is one of the main ingredients of the Telepathist potion.[39]

Sanguine[]

The Sanguine were one of the dominant races which ruled the world in the Second Epoch under the Sanguine Ancestor Lilith. They are humanoid creatures, and are suspected to have evolved from humans.[24][2]

All Sanguine are born as Sequence 7 Beyonders of the Moon Pathway, Vampires. The term "Vampire" also refers to other beings who have advanced to Sequence 7 Vampire by ingesting potions and characteristics, thus changing their species. The Sanguine disdain them very much and label them as "Artificial Vampires".

Natural vampires were already on the brink of extinction before the dragons and giants bowed out of the stage of world history. Later on, they could occasionally be discovered.[40]

Six-Winged Gargoyle[]

It is a being with grayish-white skin, and is nearly four meters tall with armor-plating patterns engraved on its body. Its head had goat horns and a mouth that resembled a hound's; the half-opened mouth reveals snarling fangs. It holds an eight-meter-long stone trident and has a pair of eyes which burned red together with six pairs of white-membraned wings.

Its core crystal is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 5, Marionettist, and the Beyonder powers it possesses are extremely special and indefensible.[34][41]

Stone Golem[]

It is a kind of stone golem with a grayish-white body that is nearly three meters tall and seemingly formed from boulders. Its face is potholed without any obvious eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. It has extremely high defenses. An artillery salvo can only slightly crack its surface area defense.[42] The 'heart' is located in the stone giant's belly.

Its core is one of the main ingredients of Sequence 5, Guardian potion.[43] Some stone giants located on the Sea of Ruins' islands are not real monsters, therefore, worthless.

Water Creatures[]

Armored Monster Fish[]

They are one of the "sea spawn" connected to the Sea Prayer Ritual in Port Santa. Drifting in the void, intermittently appearing and disappearing, these fish are adorned in dark-gray armor, their bulging eyes resembling meatballs at both ends. Starlight-threaded “thin threads” peek through the gaps in their scale-like armor. They do not seem to be restricted to water.

While on guard duty, the peculiar fish hovered in the air, scattering across different regions. Occasionally, they released bubbles carrying formless storms and impalement-inducing cracks. Erupting bubbles created countless invisible spikes, becoming perilous traps for teleporting “guests.”[44]

Asmann[]

The Asmann was said to be a monster that existed in ancient times. It looked like an unprotected human brain that could fill a room. Not only could it create terrifying illusions, but it could also make its attackers die from their own attacks.

Without the gold enclosing it, the brain of an Asmann will constantly affect those nearby, causing them to hallucinate until they lose their mental facilities. The complete brain of an Asmann is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 6, Scribe potion.[45]

Fürth Firefish[]

The Fürth Firefish is a mutated fish resulting from the corruption leaking from Fourth Epoch Trier. Its breed stabilized 769 years ago and mainly resides in the Danro section of the underground Madar River. Its meat and blood can be concocted into a 'warm cocktail' with various sunflowers. After drinking it, one can resist the effects of the cold to a certain extent for half an hour.

A Fürth Firefish that has lived for over a decade is an ingredient rich in spirituality. Using its meat, blood from a Mid-Sequence Beyonder of the Hunter pathway, ice, and lemon juice, one can cook Ice Lemon Fish fillets. After anyone eats them for the first time, they permanently enjoy reduced damage from flames. Eating them later will enhance the effect, but it only lasts for half an hour.

A Fürth Firefish that has survived for more than a decade can grow to nearly a meter in length and tends to reside in caves at the riverbed. They rarely approach the surface but exhibit a keen sensitivity to blood and spiritually rich food. These fish are highly aggressive and willing to take significant risks driven by their instincts. Their skin has hardened, rendering them impervious to fishing spears. Sharp teeth fill their mouths, enabling them to devour any humans who happen to fall into the river. Additionally, their blood possesses a distinct burning characteristic.[46]

Lavos Squid[]

The Lavos Squid is considered an extraordinary biological species. It is clearly mutated and is covered in mystery. Its blood will rapidly break down under sunlight and lose its unique qualities. It has to be stored in opaque material.

Lavos Squid's blood is blue like the sky and produces illusory bubbles as though it was connected to the spiritual world. Its blood is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 9, Seer potion[47] and the Sequence 7, Astrologer potion.[48]

Mermaid[]

Also known as "Sirens", they are humanoid sea creatures. They use their songs to confuse humans, not for entertainment but for hunting.[49] These creatures with a human head have quite some beauty in their clear, pure eyes. Their breasts are lifted up high and are covered in dark red scales. The lower halves of their bodies are comprised of massive fishtails as they rhythmically struck the reef.[50]

If one sails the sea to the east of the Gargas Archipelago for a week, they can find the mermaids that are believers of the Evernight Goddess; they can continue eastward to find more at the Sea of Ruins. There are also reared mermaids in the Church of Evernight’s headquarters, the Cathedral of Serenity, as well as the Sleep Cathedral on Dinos Island.[51]

Their singing is used as part of the advancement ritual of the Sequence 5, Marionettist of the Fool Pathway.

Murloc[]

The Murloc is the lowest grade sea monster in the Sonia Sea. It is like a giant fish which had grown four strong limbs, and there is obvious webbing in the cracks of its limbs. Its entire body was covered in dark green scales, and there is a green slime flowing around it.

The scales on a murloc’s body are very hard. Revolvers can only deal a little damage. They would need at least five to six people and four to five spears to have a chance to deal with them.[52][53]

The bladder of the murloc is the main ingredient of the Sequence 9, Sailor potion.[54]

Mutated Bannerfish[]

Also called the 'Death Navigator', they have only started to appear in recent years. It is a monstrous fish with four eyes—grayish-blue orbs replacing scales and a terrifyingly sharp mouth. Its size rivaled that of a shark, its grayish-black body devoid of scales, replaced instead by numerous, pulsing meatballs. These strange orbs shimmered with an interconnected, faint starlight, forming cryptic symbols.

They appear on fog-free nights, hovering upright as if silently observing the cosmos. Many sailors and pirates have witnessed this sight, believing the fish are summoning an evil entity. After surveying the cosmos, the Mutated Bannerfish remain on the surface, forming two lines like an arrowhead that points towards a specific spot in the sea, as if guiding some unknown creature. [55]

They are later revealed to be former humans which mutated as result of the Astronomy Aficionado Pathway boons received from the Sea Prayer Ritual in Port Santa.[56]

Naga[]

They are sea monsters with the upper body of a human and the bottom half of a snake. They have six arms and are very agile.[57]

According to the Myth of Creation, the Naga evolved from the remaining bodily fluids of The Original Creator.[12] They surrendered to the Elf King Soniathrym during the Dark Epoch and help him ruled the bottom of the sea.

There is a Naga tribe active in the depths of the sea 1,200 nautical miles away from Sonia Island. They have been working hard to find the underwater city which is rumored to have a powerful demon sealed within. That is the entity of their faith.[32]

Obninsk[]

The Obninsk is an ancient sea monster. It has a humongous, distorted body, and can directly devour a sailboat. It has as many as three heads and many tentacles that are entangled with each other. They are the protagonists of many legends at sea. Its power equal to Sequence 5.

Most of these sea monsters were tamed by the Church of the Lord of Storms. They have a fixed region of activity, but it is unknown if they have near-human intelligence.

They can be used for an advancement ritual of the Sequence 5, Ocean Songster of the Tyrant Pathway.[58]

Spirit Beings[]

Unique creatures which live in the Spirit World.

Abscessed Hand[]

This enigmatic spirit, once shrouded in legend across the southern and central parts of the world, had been conjured by aficionados of mysticism, leaving a trail of lifeless bodies in its wake.

Dream divinations unveiled a bluish-black, gangrenous hand, swollen and oozing with putrescence. Its appearance was always abrupt, snapping a victim’s neck within two to three seconds before vanishing to assail another, irrespective of the distance. It is a fragment of something greater. It is one of Lumian Lee's contracted creatures.[59]

Abyss Demon Flower[]

Monstrous flora in the form of pitch-black, thorn-covered vines with massive blood-red, putrid-smelling flowers blooming on them.[60] They have the power to induce sleep.[61][62]

Ancient Wraith[]

An ancient wraith is a ghost-like creature with a Beyonder characteristic mixed in.

The cursed item would be related to a particular item while they were still alive, fusing with the characteristic and turning into a foundation to which they relied for their existence. It was precisely because of this that different ancient wraiths have different corresponding cursed items in shape and form. However, they were essentially the same. And the dust was another type of characteristic. It was the source of most of their strength, stemming from remnant spirituality, slightly equivalent to the blood and ingredients of monsters.[63]

The cursed artifacts of an ancient wraith are one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 6, Scribe potion.[45]

Armored Shadow[]

A shadowy figure clad in pitch-black armor reminiscent of fish scales. Each scale seems to bear a face, each belonging to a different creature.[59][64] The contorted faces on the scales twisted ferociously, wordlessly expressing their agony, which had transformed into a deep-seated hatred and malice toward all living beings around them.

Its name is "Chen Tu" and originates from the Western Continent. It is one of Lumian Lee's contracted creatures.[65]

Batings Black Insect[]

It can be considered as a special spirit world creature or a degenerated Beyonder creature. They originate from the cosmos.

Rich in various proteins and possessing high energy levels, they invade human bodies via the cervical spine, controlling their nervous systems to manipulate them to their advantage. While controlling the nervous system, the host’s movements stiffen, and their eyes roll back. They seldom directly kill the host, but their larvae, once laid, absorb the host’s energy, indirectly leading to their demise.

They ceased evolving as a species generations ago. In ancient times, many of their ancestors received boons. Though their descendants no longer possess these, their body structures adapted to the boon’s power were inherited, eventually evolving into this special species with minor Beyonder-level powers.[3]

Evil Shadow Black Beast[]

A spirit world denizen that resides in the shadows of creatures. The birth of its descendants requires the stripping of a shadow as a carrier. Creatures that lose their shadows will die on the spot.[66]

Evil Spirit[]

Evil Spirits are soul-like creatures which usually form as a result of the death of High-Sequence Beyonders.

Fantasy Face[]

A spirit world creature with the "Bottle of Fiction" ability. It is one of Lumian Lee's contracted creatures.[67]

Goddess of the Lake[]

A powerful type of deceased spirit. Its appearance is a strange transparent figure in the middle of a tranquil foggy lake.[68]

Harpy[]

A harpy is a monster with the ability to give nightmares. It can also snap people awake from their dreams, so it's used as a way to stay lucid in the advancement ritual of the Sequence 5, Dreamwalker. Without that, or something that has the same effect, the Beyonder may sleep forever or lose control and turn into a monster.[69]

Headless Bride[]

Its origins can be traced to a young girl from the Haagenti Kingdom of the Southern Continent who eloped with her beloved. She was killed by her brother in the name of matrimonial transgression and ancestral decree. Ignited by the agony, fury, and rancor that gripped her before her demise, she imbibed the essence of the spirit world, transmuting into a creature akin to an evil spirit.

Dressed in scarlet bridal raiment adorned with gilded motifs, she hunted and hexed her lineage, subjecting them to an unending torrent of catastrophes spanning three decades, until the tapestry of their lineage was all but erased. Now, she prowls the spirit world, shape-shifting with calculated artistry. Its transformations beguile unwary beings and unsuspecting travelers, drawing them closer to their doom in its relentless embrace.[59]

Hounds of Fulgrim[]

The Hounds of Fulgrim or the so-called Sefirah Castle Keepers, are a type of unique creature of the spirit world. They reside in the gray fog surrounding the Sefirah Castle. Even the Seven Lights only know of them and are unable to interact with them unless they leave the Historical Void and attempt to hunt.[14]

They look like hounds. Their entire body is covered in short black fur, and in their eye sockets are two balls of dark-red burning flames. The ends of their mouths extend to the back of their heads. It clearly exists in a corporal form, but it gives off an illusory feeling that feels surreal.[70]

Their eyes and blood are ingredients of the Sequence 3, Scholar of Yore potion.[15]

Human-Faced Mantis[]

It was once a playboy from the Intis Republic’s Hornacis Province who boasted elegance and good looks. He was gifted in literature, skilled in poetry, and had numerous lovers. However, he was falsely accused of being a Warlock, and was killed at the stake.

In the spirit world, the playboy’s essence metamorphosed into a mantis bearing a human visage. Festering within him was an all-consuming loathing, mingling with a mastery over metamorphosis and relentless predation. It is one of Lumian Lee's contracted creatures.[59]

Knowledge Demon[]

Also known as an Information Creature, they are shapeless transformed knowledge that is infiltrated by all kinds of information. They are very strange and difficult monsters to deal with in mysticism.[71]

Little Devil[]

They are one of the "sea spawn" connected to the Sea Prayer Ritual in Port Santa. Standing over a meter tall, they have short figures with disproportionately large heads, bulging eyes, and wrinkled skin. They can blend into shadows and create illusions.[72][44]

Long Shadow[]

A spirit world creature with the ability to morph into shadows. It is one of Lumian Lee's contracted creatures.[67]

Malmouth[]

The Malmouth is an extremely rare void creature that roams in the Spirit World. Its ability is to swallow many items into its belly without causing them any harm.

Its entire body is colored a milky white. There are no eyes, nose, arms, or legs around it; only an opening that resembles a mouth cracked open over its surface.

Under normal circumstances, summoning rituals will not point to them. An elder of a sufficiently high Sequence must enter the Spirit World and, after a long period of searching, make a contract with one of them. That way, it will allow subsequent descendants to complete a summoning ritual with their corresponding names. It does not like people without talent in music. It would reject signing a contract with such people.[73]

Rabbit of Knowledge[]

A friendly and weak spirit creature with an innate curiosity for learning. These creatures excel in language, communication, and fast transcription. However, their limitations include lack of communication finesse and flexible thinking. While they can be valuable, caution is advised as some may turn hazardous due to tainted knowledge. Successful summoning should prioritize their friendly and weak nature.[74]

Sea Serpent[]

They are serpents that have sharp fangs in their mouths and two eyes.[?]

Shadow of Shriek[]

The Shadow of Shriek manifests as a confluence of translucent shadows. With frequent outbursts of shrieks, they induce unconsciousness in those who dared to draw near. Beyond their shrieks, they bore the attributes of ordinary shadows.[59]

Spirit World Plunderer[]

Spirit World Plunderers live in the depths of the spirit world. They're extremely rare, rich in intelligence, and very aggressive. They can capture or kill creatures and make them soul avatars. Their souls can turn into their true soul's appearance, giving them similar performance and traits. They can also disguise themselves as other spirit world creatures. When encountering them, there is a chance that all the spirit world creatures around belong to them. They might be soul avatars that mustn't be neglected.

This creature can effectively influence the thought processes of its prey, causing them to enter a desensitized state. Their true soul body has potent spirituality. In clashes of such nature, they are often at a noticeable advantage.

They are very difficult to find. At present, they can only be found in Calderón City.[75] Its True Soul Body is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 4, Bizarro Sorcerer potion.[8]

Sun Wraith[]

The Sun Wraith is an extraordinarily incongruent existence. It has a blurry figure filled with the silence and serenity of a specter’s aura, while also emitting a warmth resembling sunlight. It can emit a pure bright light similar to Light of Purification of Sequence 5, Priest of Light of the Sun Pathway.[76]

Tamed Imps[]

Translucent and indistinct, Tamed Imps look like newborns with pale-white, bluish skin and sinister expressions on their round, distorted faces. They have no corporeal form and can pass through objects.[66][77]

Terror Banshee[]

It is a powerful spirit world creature with a beautiful face and a rotting body. It has a pair of huge eagle wings and is good at draining the consciousness of others, injecting feelings of terror in them.[78]

Thousand-Eyed Evil[]

The Thousand-Eyed Evil comprises of fleshy forms and exudes a pink ichor, each adorned with an eye bereft of lashes. Gazing into the ebony pupils of these multitudes, whether human, beast, or mere Spirit Bodies, lead to swift slumber. Their connection to dreams is palpable; they occasionally manifest in the darkest recesses of the most harrowing nightmares.[59]

Plants[]

Black Faced Grass[]

A plant that grows between the stone cracks of the City of Silver's walls in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. Resembling human hair, it is the staple food of the City. The grass can be made into powder, which can be carried as rations during expeditions[79] or made into bread[80], while the leftover straw-like objects have waterproof and sealing properties[81]. Since it was believed to be the final intervention that the magnificent God left for them,[82] the residents of the City would include food made from the grass among their offerings to the Creator during the sacrificial rituals that followed the harvests.[83]

It was revealed later by Colin Iliad that the Black Faced Grass is a product of the Grade 0 Sealed Artifact, Gift of the Land.[84]

Donningsman Tree[]

It is a commonly exotic tree in the rainforests of the Southern Continent. Its sap is naturally water-resistant. It was originally rather cheap, but after research revealed that it had beneficial effects on hair growth, its price skyrocketed.[85]

The Intisians mock the Donningsman Tree, sarcastically referring to it as the national tree of the Loen Kingdom, due to the large number of Loen people lacking significant hair volume.[86]

Illusory Chime Tree[]

A strange tree on the primitive islands. Above its brownish-green trunk are thin cracks. Deep inside each crack is a darkness that looks as though different eyes were growing inside them. The branches that extend outwards have chime-like metal-gray objects hanging from them. They sway automatically, letting out melodious sounds. And on the branch closest to the trunk, there Is a fist-sized, colorless, translucent fruit. The sound of a wind chime can hypnotize other animals to walk in front of the tree and commit suicide.[30]

Its fruit is one of the main ingredients of the Sequence 6, Hypnotist potion.[87]

Treant[]

According to the Myth of Creation, the treants evolved from the liver of The Original Creator.[12] They have gone extinct after the Cataclysm.[88]

Trivia[]

  • In the Loen Kingdom, "Curly-Haired Baboons" is a common term used to mock others, often used as a joke for low intelligence.[89]
  • Down south in the Intis Republic, owls, nightingales, and ravens are thought to be sinister beings that serve demons, stealing away human souls and bringing only misfortune.[90]

Note[]

  1. In the real world, "Quetzalcoatl" is a deity in Mesoamerican culture and literature whose name comes from the Nahuatl language and means "feathered serpent".
