The Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society is a secret organization founded after the year 1352 of the Fifth Epoch. It is a mutual support organization established by some of the transmigrators.

History[]

The origins of the Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society can be traced back to the year 1352 of the Fifth Epoch, when Klein Moretti released all the humans who were in cocoons inside Sefirah Castle. They flew out of Sefirah Castle, and landed in the real world into the bodies of those who had just died. These were the 'transmigrators', some of whom eventually went on to establish the Research Society.

By 1358 of the Fifth Epoch, the Research Society had become a full-fledged secret organization, with members from various backgrounds who could support each other, most of whom were beyonders. There were different factions within the Research Society for people with different interests and needs.

Unbeknownst to the Research Society however, the core members of a certain faction, April Fool's, were actually believers of the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings. Under the leadership of Loki, they had discreetly caused the deaths of many members in the Research Society.

After this was discovered and the April Fool's faction was banished, the Research Society formed a Review Committee to counter any hidden threats and prevent future mistakes of the same sort. The committee comprised of five members: the President Gandalf, Vice President Hela, Vice President Apollo, Hidden Blade from the Sanctuary faction, and Headmaster from the Academy faction. Their mission was to evaluate the remaining members and identify any concealed threats.[1]

Characteristics[]

They use codenames to disguise themselves during gatherings.[2] A diverse and eclectic array of disguises flourished. Many of these disguises bear some connection to the popular culture, literature and mythology of the Modern Era.

Due to having members from various backgrounds, they adopted Ancient Feysac, the common tongue of the Northern Continent, as their shared language.[3]

They rely on letters to communicate with each other, though there are also small-scale gatherings, as well as communication via messengers.[2]

The five to six years following 1352 saw numerous Beyonders and Beyonder creatures of the Warrior Pathway appear in various countries besides the Feysac Empire. Because of this, several members of the Research Society had either actively or passively chosen the Twilight Giant Pathway.[4] The organization also has numerous Psychiatrists.[5]

Gatherings[]

The Research Society's meetings are held in the Nation of the Evernight, the Divine Kingdom of the Mother of the Sky. The code to enter the meeting is concealed to outsiders. Only those with Hela’s permission can join the meeting.

A Beyonder from ancient times, Ruler of the Nation of the Evernight, Noble Mother of the Sky, I beseech your permission to enter your kingdom.

Bard, a member of April Fool's, later confessed that the Celestial Worthy had 'fooled' the Divine Kingdom to prevent their crimes from being discovered.[6]

Hierarchy[]

The Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society is led by the President, Gandalf. Below him are five Vice Presidents, two of whom are Hela and Apollo.[7]

Factions[]

There are different factions within the Research Society for people with different interests and needs.

  • Academy: Practitioners of magic, trading spells among members. Led by Gandalf.
  • Purgatory: Underworld-related codenamed members. Led by Hela.
  • Sanctuary: Guardians of their daily, peaceful life. The modern ordinary, but strong-willed, people.
  • April Fool's: Disheartened by the low chance of going back to their old lives, members of this faction solely seek pleasure.[8]
  • Farm: Members who enjoy cultivating plants, purchasing land and accumulating wealth.[9]

Trivia[]

  • Roselle Gustav is the butt of many jokes in the Research Society. They frequently employ the phrase "Emperor Roselle once said..." to liven the mood or offer amusement.[10]
  • Some members of the Research Society like to compare the ravings of unknown entities to rap.[11]
  • The Research Society has two Sanguines in it.[12]
  • Before Lumian Lee switched Pathways, Franca Roland was the only Demoness in the Research Society.[13]
  • By Spring 1359, the Research Society had at least four Saints,[14] with the vast majority being under Sequence 4.[15]
