Daly Simone was the most famous Spirit Medium from Awwa County who had been living at Enmat Harbor. She is a Beyonder of the Death Pathway. She used to belong to the Tingen City division of the Nighthawk before being transferred to the Backlund division due to her high potential.

Appearance

Daly is a beautiful young woman that dresses up like a spirit medium. She wears a hooded black robe and a silver bracelet with hanging white crystal pendant around her wrist. She was depicted to always wear make up: a blue eyeshadow and blush, worn in a way to make herself look older.

Even after becoming a Gatekeeper, she still dresses up as a spirit medium to feel closer to Dunn Smith who has passed away.[?]

Background

When she was 19 years old, due to a particular accident, she had lost her family and ended up drinking a potion by mistake. She ended up becoming a Corpse Collector and was placed into a Nighthawks team.

Daly is deemed a "genius" for only taking two years to achieve Sequence 7, Spirit Medium, without the knowledge of the "acting method" beforehand. She started off as a Spirit Medium at the beginning of the series and was about to advance to Sequence 6, which would warrant her transfer into the Backlund diocese. After Dunn Smith's death, she took another year to advance to Sequence 5, Gatekeeper.

History

She was first introduced near the start of the story to figure out if Klein knew where the Antigonus Family's Notebook that killed the original Klein was.

She was transferred to the Backlund diocese due to reaching Sequence 6. After hearing from Dunn about Klein's quick digestion of the Seer potion, she came back to Tingen in secret to talk to Klein. She hoped he could explain clearly to Dunn about the acting method before he handed in his special application, as after that he would be made to swear upon the Evernight Goddess to never tell anyone.

When Klein encountered Dunn taking Kenley's Beyonder characteristic, he wrote a letter to Daly. She did not reply but instead wrote to Dunn, telling him to explain what happened to Klein. This was because the fact that Beyonder characteristics exist and are equivalent to the main ingredients of a potion was a secret, and the person who exposed this matter was responsible for it.

Later she appeared during the fight with Ince Zangwill and almost went berserk due to the effects of consuming a potion to power up her spiritual abilities and force spirit creatures away from Ince who was trying to use the power of 0-08 to escape.

In order to prevent her from turning into a Rampager, Klein transformed into Dunn Smith and offered her a dance. He then turned her into a Marionette, reversing the mutation. She died in the arms of a vision of Dunn Smith, with a smile on her face.

Daly was in love with Dunn, and it was mutual. However, they never confessed to each other before Dunn died. Dunn believed himself to be unworthy of her, and Daly did not want to scare him away with her advances.
