— Madam Sharon to Tris on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 66 |
The Demoness Sect is a secret organization which began as the Demoness Family in the Fourth Epoch. They worship the Primordial Demoness. They control the Demoness Pathway.
History[]
They were originally a family, the Demoness Family, with all members being descendants of the Primordial Demoness. They had very few members, and their beliefs were passed down through their bloodlines.
From the Fifth Epoch on, when such an organizational structure was deemed unable to sustain their influence, they began to incorporate Beyonders of the Demoness Pathway who also believed in the Primordial Demoness as members. This recruitment of non-blood related people into their fold turned them from the Demoness Family into the Demoness Sect.[1][2]
The Demoness Sect is widely believed to have founded the Theosophy Order.
Philosophy[]
“ | Now, you're a child of the Primordial One. |

— Clarice to Franca Roland on Circle of Inevitability, Chapter 454 |
The Demoness Sect worship the Primordial Demoness. They believe that this secret existence is the true inheritor of the Creator. They believe that “She” was born out of the Chaos and was the earliest to be born from the Creator’s body. “She” is also the ultimate Ender that ends everything.[3]
Characteristics[]
It was rumored that they would kill the fathers of their children and abandon the baby boys; resulting in all the members being female.
In reality, it was the opposite. The fathers and the male children would all become females through advancing in the Demoness Pathway, and the female children would be given away. It was further stated that due to the influence of the Primordial Demoness, the Demoness Sect despises true female born Demonesses and if they ever encounter one they will eliminate them.[4]
If we don't count Sequence 4 Despairs, and only consider the accumulated number of currently living Sequence 3 and Sequence 2 Beyonders, the Demoness Sect has more than any orthodox god church. This is due to the power Sequence 3 Unaging has over resurrection and rebirth, giving them long lifespans and making them notoriously hard to kill. In this regard, only the Sanguine, whose lives are equally long, can compare with them, but still fall short.[5]
However, the Demoness Sect is inferior to orthodox god churches in that, because their high-level members must be Demonesses, there are no angels from other pathways.[5]
Hierarchy[]
After the Pale-White War near the end of the Fourth Epoch, the Primordial Demoness fell into slumber, occasionally waking. All sect affairs are handled by high-ranking Demonesses titled by color.[2] The right to name oneself with a color is received they reach Sequence 3.[5]
They do not have clear subordination among themselves, directly reporting to the Matriarch. Currently, there are thirteen of them, some of whom are Angels, others powerful Saints. Their Matriarch, the Demoness of Gray Judith, is the child of Alista Tudor and the Primordial Demoness.[2]
