According to the classifications based on the Nighthawks' confidential information, the feelings of vengeance and injustice left behind by spirits were the weakest and easiest kinds of souls to deal with. Following those were shadows and wraiths.
Evil spirits were the most difficult soul-like creatures to deal with. The most horrifying of evil spirits were said to be as strong as High Sequence Beyonders.[1]
Description[]
Some Evil spirits have Beyonder characteristics, but most of them didn’t. The source of their powers stemmed from other places, such as the spirit world.[2]
Most Evil spirits are the result of the dead of High-Sequence Beyonders.[3] For a demigod Beyonder, they experienced a qualitative change due to their powerful souls. Their Soul Body would have experienced a mutation. There will be a certain level of divinity to it, even in death, their psyche could persist for some time. Unless this was circumvented due to an enemy deliberately destroying it, a High Sequence Beyonder, who continued having a strong desire or unresolved matters during their state of death, could have their remnant will last longer. As such, he could slowly assimilate the surrounding areas, allowing it to mix with the spirit world, and even the Underworld, so as to turn it into an Evil spirits.[4]
The existence of Evil spirits needs something to rely on, or they will weaken with the passage of time until they completely dissipate. This might be the “territory” that they were born in, or perhaps something special. The common point was that Evil spirits could use them to connect to the spirit world or even the Underworld to obtain the power to maintain their existence. In consequences, they will assimilate into the region, making them unable to leave their own territory.[2]
Evil Spirits can leave their territory by accumulating sufficient power and allowing their existence to experience a fundamental change, or by possessing a living person,[5] but ordinary humans and most Beyonders are unable to withstand the extraction effect the evil spirits have on their bodies. They will quickly lose their spirituality and body temperature and be unable to last long. The best method is to rely on a Sequence 5, Guardian or higher of the Death Pathway.[3]
Evil Spirits usually inherit their original self-obsession. This can be several things depending on their own desire when they were still alive. However, they commonly desire two things. The first one is to feed on the soul of living creatures that give them innate pleasure that stems from the need to maintain their existence. With a large number of souls, they can even escape the restriction of their territory and active range. The second one is to seek out Beyonder ingredients from their pathway when they were still alive.[3]
Evil spirits like many supernatural creatures, doesn't need potions, they can directly consume the raw ingredient of their pathway. This is because their obsession, cruelty, ferociousness, and penchant for souls make them half-crazy to begin with. There’s no need to regulate it from other sources. Furthermore, they are Spirit Bodies, so the method of consumption is direct accommodation and slow digestion. At a certain stage, the Evil spirits would no longer need to draw on the powers of the spirit world and Underworld. They would no longer be restricted by their territories or active range. In a sense, they would have transformed into a special spirit world creature.[3]
Evil spirits are able to use Mirror Blink and entered the Mirror World.[6]
There a lot of Evil spirits on the Southern Continent.[7] In the Forsaken Land of the Gods, the connection with the spirit world was almost completely severed, making its powers difficult to be effectively utilized.[2]
