They’re called the Iron and Blood Cross Order, and they also believe in the True Creator. However, their brains appear to have been eaten by zombies. They were fervent to the point of stupidity. They didn’t adhere to my sense of aesthetics. So after cheating them of their things, I quit.

Anderson Hood, to Danitz
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 931

The Iron and Blood Cross Order is a newly founded secret organization that has only existed for the last 200 years. They seek to create a world under them where the mysterious and supernatural is out in the open for everyone to see, and not veiled in secrets.

History[]

The God they used to believe in was the True Creator. This is not the truly the case as of 1358 of the Fifth Epoch. Mr. K claims that the organization has distanced themselves from their God.[1] According to Madam Magician, the fact that they are allowing new members to be corrupted[Note 1] as a part of initiation goes against the test that she knew of and believes the Iron and Blood Cross Order has undergone some negative changes over the years.[2]

By 1358, one of their main goals is to overthrow the current Government and establish a country ruled by Beyonders. They established multiple branch organizations and manipulated the public so that when necessary, they can be used to fight the police and the army. The organization aims to use the ordinary people that act as the anchors of the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun and the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery as a bargaining chip to comply with their demands, if not outright support them.

To further garner support from the public, they backed an evil god's believer: Hugues Artois' bid for Parliament despite knowing the forces behind him. This was because when he, who was associated with the National Convention and the Government would inevitably cause chaos and destruction, the more people would flock to their side.

The organization, which is dominated by Beyonders of the Red Priest Pathway seek the legacy of the Blood Emperor in Fourth Epoch Trier, believing that, by having their own Angels and God, can they fulfill their core ambitions.[3]

In fact, the Red Angel Evil Spirit manipulated the Iron and Blood Cross Order members to grasp Fourth Epoch Trier situation and pinpoint Vermonda Sauron's exact location. It was the influence of Medici and the plans of the Mirror People that caused them undergo negative changes and turned away from the True Creator.[4]

Initially, they will use the black Primordial Demoness figurine that was smuggled by Christo and its connection to the mirror fragments in the wilderness to infiltrate the Fourth Epoch Trier through the seal leak that once appeared beneath Salle de Bal Brise. Later, they had a better choice—Lumian Lee, which led to the creation of the Hostel plan.[5]

As the Hostel plan succeeds, make the entrance to the Fourth Epoch Trier briefly open. They used the Savoie Mob to cause riots in the Market District and collaborated with Carbonari to cause riots in Quartier Éraste to divert the attention of the two Churches and other authorities.[6] Meanwhile, their higher-ups went to the Fourth Epoch Trier to obtain Vermonda Sauron's Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristic, but unfortunately they failed and had to escape from there.[4]

Subsuquently, the Iron and Blood Cross Order's Market District division was eliminated, and its member were being hunted by the authorities.[7]

Philosophy[]

They believe that deities are merely powerful Beyonders, and no matter how you look at it, even the weakest Beyonder is fundamentally different from ordinary people. Beyonders are considered superior to ordinary people.

Their philosophy is that regardless of how one obtains Beyonder powers, they should be recognized and treated with a status above ordinary people. However, the Churches and the Government only acknowledge the Beyonders they nurture. The Churches also insist that supernatural powers should be concealed from ordinary folks as much as possible. Since they believe this goes against nature and the course of history, they aim to change society and the world to make the supernatural no longer a secret and put it out in the open for everyone to see, so as to become true rulers themselves.[8]

Characteristics[]

Their strength is mainly concentrated in Intis, with over a third of the members based in Trier.

Upon entering 13 Avenue du Marché, they will be corrupted, transforming into a terrifying monster like Olson, whose head and body have been severed, similar to those in Bansy Harbor. The head detached from the body, dragging along the spine.[9]

But Medici assisted numerous members, such as Gardner Martin, in maintaining their lucidity and rationality in the face of corruption at 13 Avenue due Marché. They did not transform into monsters but were only slightly affected.[4]

Hierarchy[]

The highest authority is the President/Brigade Commander. Following are several Branch Presidents/Deputy Brigade Commanders, each of whom is a powerful demigod. Below them are the Commanding Officers(CO) and the NCOs who assist them.

Apart from these, there are also many Supervisors. Each Supervisor acts independently and patrols the areas under the jurisdiction of different Commanding Officers.[10]

Trivia[]

  • Anderson Hood couldn't stand the Iron and Blood Cross Order and fled to sea.[11][12]
  • Their initiation rituals were adapted from a ritual conducted by the Les Neuf Sœurs.[3]
  • Mr. K had arranged for others to approach the exposed members of the Iron and Blood Cross Order and infiltrate the organization before, but because of corruption[Note 1] they lost contact with him and stopped reporting. They even put him in considerable danger.[13]

Notes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 This corruption will turn new members into fanatics towards war and chaos and reject belief in other deities.
