— Jahn Kottman on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 1216 |
Jahn Kottman is a Cardinal of the Church of the Lord of Storms, and a high-ranking deacon of the Mandated Punishers. He is the former Archbishop of the Cathedral of Waves in Bayam, and the former true ruler of the Beyonder world in the Rorsted Archipelago. He is a Sequence 3, Sea King of the Tyrant Pathway.
Appearance[]
He appears to be in his forties with a face with firm and deep lines. He has a pair of deep blue eyes, and his hair of the same color is twice as thick as a normal person’s. They are like small worms or tentacles. He is tall and brawny, his accentuated muscles filled his loose Storm priest robes.
Personality[]
Like most Beyonders of the Tyrant Pathway, he tends to be aggressive and impulsive.
History[]
Jahn Kottman once had to contain the rampage of a dying Kalvetua, and protect the archipelago from him. He managed to do so successfully.[1] Immediately after that, he tried to find Kalvetua's corpse to take his Beyonder Characteristics, but was beaten to it by The Fool.[2]
He was involved when Klein used the Sea God Scepter against Crazy Captain Viktor; the scepter attracted Jahn Kottman attention. However Connor Viktor was already dead when he arrived on the scene.[3]
When Klein was targeted by the Rose School of Thought at Bayam, he chose to lure Kottman there; from his point of view Kottman would naturally deal with them first;[4] and Kottman really did rush to the battlefield, destroying a mountain along the way. Having recognized Gehrman Sparrow,[5] he reported it to the Church who then put a bounty on him.[6]
He was also the one responsible for monitoring Alger Wilson during the World War, and the one that helped him in his advancement ritual to Sequence 4.[7]
Later, he negotiated the independence of the Rorsted Archipelago with Danitz and the Church of the Sea God under the condition that they protect the archipelago in their place, so that his side could send help against Feysac during the war.[8]
After the war, his position in the Rorsted Archipelago was given to Alger Wilson, while he got stationed somewhere else.
