As long as you can remove the seal and release me, I will take what belongs to me back to the cosmos. I will leave the rest to you and grant you three wishes.

— The Genie to Klein Moretti
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 1349

The Magic Wishing Lamp is a powerful Sealed Artifact with the ability to make the holder's wishes come true. Its abilities resemble the Sequence 2 Miracle Invoker's wish granting abilities altered and magnified by the power of the Genie, similar to the Black Emperor Pathway's distortion. Also it's able to use Under-the-table Transactions from Chaos Mist Pathway domain.[1]

The artifact appears to be alive, holding a sentient being known as the Genie. "He" was once a part of the Son of Chaos, an Outer Deity from the Cosmos.[2] It was the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings who previously sealed the Genie inside the lamp.[3][2]

Appearance[]

The Lamp:
The item was entirely gold in color, like a miniaturized kettle. Its surface was covered with mysterious and complicated symbols, and a part of a lamp’s wick extended out from the mouth.

The Genie:
The wick at the spout of the Magic Wishing Lamp suddenly ignited, emitting light that looked like viscous water, spurting upwards to form a blurred and distorted pale golden figure.[2]

Background[]

It is a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact from the First Epoch, formed by the combination of the Beyonder characteristic of a Miracle Invoker of the Fool Pathway and a characteristic with a mysterious origin. The Genie inside it is actually a part of the Son of Chaos, an Outer Deity who was sealed into the Lamp by the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings.[4]

A True God once tried to destroy this artifact and separate the Beyonder characteristics but was unsuccessful.[5] It was later revealed by the author that this True God was in fact Trunsoest and that "His" failed attempt is related to why the Nation of Disorder corrupted the Trunsoest Brass Book.[6]

It is said that none of its former owners ever meet a good ending, including Roselle Gustav.[7]

History[]

Lord of Mysteries[]

The Magic Wishing Lamp was formerly owned by Roselle Gustav. Later, it was held by Bernadette Gustav and "She" made a wish for it in preparation for the upcoming fight against William Augustus I. Through its power, "She" was able to hold the power of a Sequence 1 Knowledge Emperor for a day.[7]

The artifact was temporarily held by Cattleya when Bernadette left to find the remains of Roselle on a mysterious island.[8] Afterwards, she informed Mr. Fool about the lamp. When Klein looked at the lamp through Cattleya's star in the Sefirah Castle the Genie took over her star and entered in her place. In their meeting, "He" confirmed that Klein is not the previous owner of the Sefirah Castle that sealed "Him". "He" still made "His" offer to Klein which was "His" release in exchange for "His" assistance, confident that Klein will need it in the future.[9]

When Klein was trapped in Adam's Corpse Cathedral, he made a deal with the Genie in order to escape. He promised to send the Magic Wishing Lamp into the Cosmos before the end of 1368, in exchange for two wishes. His first wish was to move the two wishes used by Bernadette under his name, so that "She" wouldn't die by using all three wishes. His second wish was for Utopia to give rise to a corresponding region in the spirit world, completing his Sequence 1, Attendant of Mysteries ritual. As his second wish is equivalent to his fourth wish, it was distorted, killing him and helping him escape Adam's Divine Kingdom.[10]

Klein rented this lamp from Bernadette before he went to the Hornacis Mountain in order to take the Beyonder characteristics and the Uniqueness of the Fool Pathway from Antigonus, and begin the apotheosis ritual.[11]

Circle of Inevitability[]

The lamp appeared with Bernadette around the period before Vermonda Sauron's death at Medici's hands. The Genie suggested to save Roselle by replacing "His" corruption with another's.[12]

In the Tarot Club's battle against Loki, The Hermit held the lamp.[13][14]

During Project Vortex in 1359 of the Fifth Epoch, the Genie was used as a medium to gain temporary access to the Nation of Disorder. Both the Genie inside the Magic Wishing Lamp and "His" counterpart in the Cosmos, the Son of Chaos, were heavily injured by the combined efforts of Adam, Amon, Roselle Gustav and Bernadette Gustav.[15]

Power & Downside[]

Power[]

Due to the Miracle Invoker characteristic, the artifact is able to grant wishes. The Genie claims to be eternal and can grant 10 wishes for every owner.[8] However, "He" also claims that it would be hard to affect matters at the level of Sequence 0.[11]

Downside[]

Wishes made to the lamp are often achieved in a twisted way. If the wish is related to sequence 0, it will be significantly twisted. Hence Roselle once warned Bernadette to be careful with the wording. Roselle said that the owner can find a way to avoid the consequences of the first two wishes through wording and preparation, however, the third wish must never be made.[7]

  • For example, if someone wishes to become a Sequence 0 true deity, they could have their body and soul melt into one with an unknown evil god.

The Genie's requirement is that the wish has to be simple and concise. Otherwise, "He" will reject it and treat it as if you have already made a wish.

The Genie is very smart and mischievous. "He" will lure the owner to make wishes through dreams and hallucinations. The wish has to be simple in wording, or "He" would refuse and count it as one wish.

The "holder" of the lamp is a different concept from the "owner". The ownership can only be transferred to the holder after the last owner's death. If the holder makes a wish, it will count as one wish for both the holder and the owner.

If the holder dream of the Genie and are bewitched by "Him" to make a wish, it mean the previous owner died, and the property was transferred.[8]
