Countless black shadows gathered, coalescing into a pitch-black fiend dripping with viscous fluid. The fiend had two heads - one belonging to the Master of the Shadow Cottage and the other to Farbauti.[2]
History[]
Before The Apocalypse, the Celestial Master, the Underworld Daoist, the Holy Monk, the Master of the Shadow Cottage, and the Celestial Thearch joined forces to aid Lumian Lee fighting against the Malevolent Dragon in the City of Calamity. Since beings of "His" level could not directly intervene, "They" used preexisting seals to restrict and weaken the Malevolent Dragon.[1]
When the fight against the Outer Deities first started, the Master of the Shadow Cottage met Farbauti in the Tenebrous World. Both beings were unwilling to accept the fate of being devoured by the Great Old Dominators and decided to cooperate.[3] "They" fused into a pitch-black fiend dripping with viscous fluid. The fiend had two heads—one belonging to the Master of the Shadow Cottage and the other to Farbauti.[2]
Farbauti and Master of the Shadow Cottage successfully formed a Quasi-Father of Devils, but "Their" aggregate form proved highly vulnerable to the influence of the Inextinguishable Ravings. In "Their" final moment of clarity, "They" decided to risk everything by luring the Inextinguishable Ravings to the Tenebrous World. Then, "They" cursed "Themselves" and everything connected to "Them".[4]
With Amon's assistance, this suicidal act also impacted the Mother Tree of Desire. "They" succeeded in cursing and severely wounding two Outer Deities, forcing both the Inextinguishable Ravings and the Mother Tree of Desire to retreat. However, the Mother Tree of Desire managed to recover the Tenebrous World by exploiting the connection made during the curse. This came at the cost of "Her" injuries and the abandonment of the Uniquenesses and Beyonder characteristics of the Chained and Abyss Pathways.[5]
