Melissa Moretti is the youngest Moretti sibling and a civilian. She does not believe in the occult and is unaware of her brother Klein's activity as a Beyonder and Nighthawk, until she became a Mid-Sequence Beyonder. She loves her two brothers both very much and tries hard to save money.
Appearance[]
Her face was thin and slightly pale, her skin remained lustrous as it exuded the vibes of a young girl.
In year 1352, her face no longer had that adolescent look on it. There was more meat to her face, making her no longer look so skinny.[3]
In 1360 Trier, she was a woman with black hair and brown eyes, delicate features, and wearing dark pants and a skirt.[4]
After time skip at the last chapter of the Book 1, her hair tied up and she wore a glasses.[5]

Melissa is frugal and highly rational. She is an aspiring mechanical engineer and is very self-conscious about the sacrifices her eldest brother Benson has made in order to support her studies. She frequently skips on small comforts like taking the bus or eating at restaurants in order to save the pocket change. This sometimes leads to friction with Klein, who is more inclined to spend freely and enjoy life as it comes. Klein must constantly convince her of the importance of keeping up appearances as they move upwards into middle-class society.
Melissa is a follower of the Goddess like her siblings but claims she doesn't believe in the supernatural. She is convinced that there is a logical and scientific explanation behind every phenomenon.
History[]
Melissa was born in Spring 1333 of the Fifth Epoch as the youngest Moretti sibling. She is very observant. She briefly becomes suspicious of Klein's job after he behaves oddly at her friend Selena's birthday party, where, unbeknownst to the guests, Klein is forced to perform an impromptu exorcism,[6] but continued to buy Klein's explanations.
Later in early 1350, she went to Backlund with Benson for his exam. Melissa transfers to the technical school and now studies at the Backlund University of Technology and Industry. Being talented in mechanics, she is helping in the workshop of Chancellor Portland Moment,[7] from whom she also received the Savant potion and became a Sequence 9 Beyonder by the year 1352.[8]
After The Apocalypse, she appeared in Trier because she was sent to study at a research institute under the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery. She is now a competent Beyonder, fully digested her Astronomer potion and finally learned of Klein's divine status. In Trier, her meeting with Franca Roland gave her a chance to travel to another planet or join Daoism.[4]
