The City of Exiles, Morora, is a hidden prison city related to Sealed Artifact 0-01. Managed by the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, the city acts as a prison for criminals around the world.

History[]

Morora was first referenced in a paper from the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom regarding their Sealed Artifact 0-01.

Lumian Lee entered the city in order to complete the mission from the Church of Knowledge and to find the missing parts of the Abscessed Hand.[1]

Characteristics[]

Morora is used to seal the Sealed Artifact 0-01.

According to research conducted by Madam Magician, Morora is completely unheard of to outsiders. To ordinary individuals and even to the lower and middle-class clergy of the Church of Knowledge, this city remains non-existent and unrecorded.[2] Later, it was revealed that the entrance to the Morora is located within the underground of Holy Temple of Knowledge, behind a large double brass door.[3]

Morora frequently faces severe weather conditions such as hurricanes, heavy rain, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, despite the absence of volcanoes in the area originally. Its inhabitants exhibit unusually aggressive behaviour, with fatal duels occurring daily and frequent protests and riots. Despite the dangers, the residents show no inclination to leave.[4]

The city has farms, mines, and factories around it. As a result of accumulating over generations, and importing from abroad, there are around 200,000 residents in Morora.

Most laws are the same as in other cities in Lenburg, but dueling is legal if both parties agree. Non-violent protests are also allowed. There is also a dedicated team to maintain order. The enforcement team is made up entirely of experimental personnel.

The worst punishment for breaking the law in Morora is to become an experimental personnel. Besides the church's overseers, at least two experimental personnel are discarded daily.[1]

Before being sent to Morora, serious criminals undergo a mystical technique called 'Harps’ Rain of Sterility,' which renders them infertile. This condition can be reversed with the corresponding mystic technique or by a professional doctor.[1]

It was later revealed that Morora, along with the surrounding mountains, resides in the God of Knowledge and Wisdom's stomach. The Path of Exile leads to the Astral World.[5]

Notable Locations[]

Underground Morora[]

Within the underground of Morora, four statues made of gray-white stone, each over two meter tall, exist. These statues faced each other in pairs, their faces blurred, dressed in peculiar clothing, with square scarves wrapped around their heads. In the middle of the statues stood a half-height stone platform with an unlit oil lamp on it. These statues and platform are made by the members of Iron and Blood Cross Order who infiltrated Morora.[6] This site serves as a ritual site to mass-produce soldiers using the leaking power of 0-01 from the underground mausoleum and Lamp of Calamity, which bears resemblance to Lumian Lee's Corpse Wax Candle.[7]

Lumian Lee once tried to destroy the four statues, but he failed because the statues can mend themselves by drawing some power from the earth. This failure led to Lumian's attempt on mixing many mystical items into the Lamp of Calamity.[8] This attempt resulted in Gusain being corrupted when using the Lamp of Calamity for the ritual and turned into a female.[7]

Morora Underground Mausoleum[]

This Mausoleum is located within the underground of City of Exile, Morora. As a location that serves as a place that seals 0-01, it heaps with corruptions stemmed from the Sealed Artifact. The interior of the mausoleum is constructed from stone slabs as the floor and brick for the walls, with rusty iron wall lamps every so often, although none of them being lit.[9] Within the mausoleum, one may encounter a strong illusions where many scenes overlap each other if they are corrupted enough by the sealing information and knowledges of 0-01.[10]

0-01 is located within the core sealing area within the mausoleum, at the peak of the mountain of corpses and bones within the wilderness.[11]

The taboos stemmed from the corruption and sealing power of 0-01 within the mausoleum are as follow:

  • One must close their eyes or using blindfold within the mausoleum to prevent the manifestation of their corresponding Mirror People and being replaced.[12][13]
  • One must carry a lamp or any light source to prevent being swallowed by the darkness, disappearing and being believed to be dead long ago.[14]
  • Beyonder with strength surpassing Sequence 5 is strongly prohibited from approaching.[12]

The last two taboos hinted at a hidden danger. That hidden danger is that there is a latent taboo:

  • The underground mausoleum needs eternal, deathly darkness. It can occassionally have light, but there can't be continuous light in the same place. When Beyonders above Sequence 5 with godhood approach, it instinctively causes 0-01 to burn the area, bringing embers that can last for a period of time. This phenomena can cause the seal of 0-01 to lose balance and weaken, causing the corruption of 0-01 to strengthen and spread all over Morora. [14][15]
