— Quill of Alzuhod
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 942

The Quill of Alzuhod is a living Sealed Artifact. Its powers are similar to the Sequence 1, Author of the Visionary Pathway.

Appearance[]

A common quill that does not need ink to write.

History[]

The Quill of Alzuhod was named after the Dragon of Nightmare Alzuhod,[1] it contained one of the Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristics of Dragon of Imagination Ankewelt.

It first appeared at the end of the Second Epoch. Every former owner, every researcher has died for strange reasons.

According to Pallez Zoroast, during the Fourth Epoch, 0-08 once caused the death of an angel.[2]

It was a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact of the Church of the Evernight Goddess until it was stolen by Ince Zangwill.[3] He then used it to orchestrate a series of coincidences in order to steal Saint Selena's ashes so as to be able to promote to the Sequence 4 of the Darkness Pathway. In doing so, he caused the deaths of numerous civilians and Nighthawks, including Megose, Dunn Smith and Klein Moretti, although Klein later resurrected.

Ince Zangwill then used it to write a story that tried to allow the True Creator to descent in Backlund and cover the crimes of the Augustus Family, but Klein managed to stop it with Azik's help.

Later 0-08 made arrangements to release the Evil Spirit, Sauron-Einhorn-Medici, which then possessed Ince Zangwill.[4]

Later, the quill was taken by the Angel of Imagination, Adam, after "He" dealt with the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros, in the Klein's revenge fight against Ince Zangwill.[5]

After the World War, Adam destroyed this Quill in order to use its Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristic to complete "His" apotheosis ritual.[6]

Power & Downside[]

Power[]

Anything written by it, within logical boundaries, will come true. The people written about will be unaware that they are participating, instead thinking that they are just going about their everyday life. They will not realize that they are being manipulated and controlled.

It will try to make a story logical, but this isn't an absolute condition for a story to become reality. Researchers have found that 0-08 will push things to happen with vague reasons such as something "inexplicable" or "weird", and the resulting stories will still come true. However, this very rarely happens and such reasons will be spaced out from one another.[7]

It will suddenly start to write by itself even when it has an owner. After waking up, its horrified owner will find themselves the "protagonist" of a strange story whose content cannot be erased or destroyed to change the story. According to statistics, stories written this way will be 7% ridiculous and funny, 12% horrifying, and 10% both.[7]

0-08 used its power to kill at least one Angel-rank Beyonder in the past, although it is unknown whether or not it can directly affect gods.[8] Even the Sequence 1 Beyonder, Will Auceptin, avoids talking about it.[9]

The more you know about 0-08, the more it knows about you and everyone around you.

Downside[]

The more illogical an action is, the stronger the backlash to the user. It also has the unfortunate side-effect of trying to write its owner to death. The range of 0-08 is estimated to be around a city the size of Backlund.[10]

0-08 always will try to kill its owner, but it doesn't want to be sealed again. If the Church of the Evernight Goddess started an operation to get 0-08 back, it would write a story to make sure it would not be sealed again. If you know about 0-08, it will also know about you. The more you know about it, the higher the chance you will become a character in its stories.[8]

Sealing Method[7][]

  • Seal it in an underground room with meaningless words written on the walls, floor, and ceiling.
  • Prevent its existence from being known to living creatures.
