Even for existences at our level, fate is still so miraculous.

The River of Fate (命运长河, Mìngyùn chánghé) appears as either a mercury-colored illusory river of light, a slowly rotating segmented wheel or a giant serpent that had its head and tail connected.[1] Beyonders in the domain of Fate can utilize it to varying extents.

Klein Moretti once speculated that the World of Absolute Rationality (绝对理性世界, Juéduì lǐxìng shìjiè) that the Life School of Thought promotes might be referring to the River of Fate.[2]

Appearance[]

It appears as a mercury or silver colored illusory river of light woven from complex symbols. It has multiple distributaries. Other images may include a slowly rotating segmented wheel or a giant serpent that had its head and tail connected. [3][4][5][1]

History[]

On the first day, the Original Creator awoke and created this world, but Reality, the Spirit World, the Astral World, and Fate were still mixed together.[6]

On the second day, the Oldest One birthed the Mother Goddess of Depravity. Reality gained a foundation, the Spirit World and Astral World were separated, and the River of Fate began to flow. Soon after, the Mother Tree of Desire was born, giving rise to life and introducing evil and desire. Then came the Son of Chaos, who established order-and with it, shadows naturally emerged.[6]

On the third day, the Oldest One and the Mother Goddess united, and the Mother of All Things gave birth to a firstborn daughter, the Goddess of Fate. From then on, the Fates of all things began to intertwine, no longer in absolute chaos but instead forming relative patterns and foreseeable Futures.[6]

Characteristics[]

  • The essence of Fate was infinite chaos, rooted in the Oldest One's madness.[7] Every event has both a good side and a bad side. Something good will inevitably carry bad aspects, and vice versa.[8][9] Even the Goddess of Fate could not fully control it, nor could "She" ensure the River of Fate always flowed according to "Her" woven designs.[10]
  • Even to existences at Above the Sequence level, even to the Pillars, Fate remains a wondrous and amusing thing.[12] "They" can't completely avoid it, "They" can only mitigate its influence.[8]
  • Fate's guidance is undoubtedly correct but only provide a baseline.[15]
    • For instance, Fate might have hinted that The Apocalypse will not happen within a month, but it wouldn't reveal that The Apocalypse would strike immediately after that time frame.
    • Similarly, Fate might suggest there was still hope and opportunity a month from now but wouldn't warn that acting earlier could yield better chances and greater hope.
  • A price is always exacted for what Fate bestows.
    • For Beyonders of the Fate Pathway, the exacted price needs to be paid first before awaiting bestowment.[16]
  • Although Fate was mixed with Reality, the Spirit World, and the Astral World at the beginning of creation,[17] the reason Fate has no Pillar is that its essence is complete chaos, making it impossible for a ruler to exist above it.[18]
  • Abilities that manipulate Luck and Misfortune mutually counteract each other because when under the effect of both Luck and Misfortune ,the Luck and Misfortune of an entity would be neutralized.[19]

Great Old Ones symbolizing Fate[]

  • Key of Light
    • The Symbolism of Fate, the Embodiment of Fate.[20][21]
    • Represents a possibility of one’s Fate and represents Chaos.[22]
  • Goddess of Fate
    • Symbolizes the weaving of chaotic Destiny into a semblance of order, forming the foundation of the current River of Fate.[23][22]
  • Circle of Inevitability
    • Represents a predetermined Fate, a decisive state of Fate that will not change.[22]
    • Symbolizes the possibility of salvation in apocalyptic crises brought about by the inherent chaos of Destiny, allowing the universe to continue in relative stability until its ultimate end.[23]
