“ | The place where you meet every Monday is most likely Sefirah Castle |
„ |
— Pallez Zoroast to Leonard Mitchell on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 1140 |
The Sefirah Castle (源堡, Source Castle, Yuánbǎo), previously called the mysterious space above the Gray Fog before Klein Moretti (Zhou Mingrui) knew its name[1] and is also called The Door of Light, is one of the nine Sefirot on Earth, a legacy left behind by the Original Creator and originally owned by The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth.
Corresponds to one of the Three Pillars, Lord of the Mysteries Group. The Demonic Wolf Flegrea knew its name and tried to get in it in "His" entire life through the Fool Pathway but never succeeded. Therefore, many powerful creatures suspect that the Sefirah Castle doesn't exist and is only an abstract concept.[2]
Klein is able to go above the gray fog through a certain ritual he had learned when he was still in 21st century China. In the Sefirah Castle, Klein holds regular Tarot Club meetings where he poses as Mr. Fool. Once stable, the Sefirah Castle's core appears as a strange door of light mark on humanoid Klein's glabella.[3]
Appearance[]
A majestic ancient palace with a vast dome supported by towering stone pillars that stood above the boundless gray fog in the Spirit World. It was later revealed that the true Sefirah Castle is the door of light inside of the palace and the space above the gray fog is the Realm of God that comes with the Sefirah Castle while the ancient palace is made from Klein's thought with the power of "Wishes".[4] The door of light constantly emanated a faint grayish-white fog, The Historical Void.[5]
Manifestation of Klein's Wish[]
“ | Back when I casually imagined this place, it was merely a rough concept; I did not describe the shape of the palace, table, or chairs… Where does this design come from? The best choice? The first prototype? Or are they a reflection of reality? |
„ |
— Klein Moretti on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 61 |
After Klein thought that there should be a grand palace, a long table, chairs with ancient patterns, and a palace hall appeared in the gray fog and remained there:
There is a magnificent palace hall with a vast dome supported by numerous towering stone pillars. It's looked grand and lofty, just like a legendary palace for giants.
Directly under the dome where the gray fog gathered, there is an ancient, long bronze table with ten high-back chairs on either side in a symmetrical arrangement. The back of each chair dazzled and shone faintly with crimson red, drawing the outlines of weird constellations that differed from reality.
The True "Sefirah Castle"[]

Door of Light
Somewhere within the gray fog, there are steps that lead to a door of light with a bluish-black luster. The door is formed by countless layer of spherical light and each spherical light enveloped transparent or translucent squirming maggots. Behind this door, there is a bluish-black fog, that maybe hiding something unknown and terrifying. There are completely transparent cocoons hanging by thin black threads from the top of the door, and inside the cocoons are souls from every race, wearing modern clothes, some even holding cell phones. All of them has the aura as though they are living but their eyes are tightly closed. Three cocoons are already broken and empty.
History[]
In the First Epoch, the former owner, The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth sealed people in cocoons in the Sefirah Castle and arranged to release certain ones when certain requirements were met, for his resurrection. But something went wrong and he wasn't able to resurrect as planned.
In the Second Epoch, Flegrea knew the existence of the Sefirah Castle; this was the name that "He" gave. However "He" failed to enter Sefirah Castle even to "His" death. Therefore, many powerful creatures suspect that the Sefirah Castle doesn't exist and is only an abstract concept.[2]
Angels and gods of this pathway group also can sense its existence, but no one has found it.[6]
On June 28, 1349 of the Fifth Epoch, when Zhou Mingrui transmigrated into Klein Moretti, the black velvet Curtain was spat out of the Sefirah Castle. The Evernight Goddess indirectly affected the Sefirah Castle through Antigonus to "Tamper" the Curtain to the Forsaken Land of the Gods.[7][8][9]
Klein is able to go above the gray fog through a certain ritual he had learned when he was still in 21st century China.[10] He gains more access to the Sefirot's powers as he progresses along the Beyonder pathway.[11]
After The Fool's Gambit, Klein Moretti is currently in a deep sleep here together with Arrodes.
Mysteries of the Gray Fog[]
Historical Void is a symbolic object formed from all the history in the Spirit World. [12]
Klein had a guess that he was the Ruler above the Spirit World referred to by the Magical Mirror Arrodes as well as some other beings like the Orange Light Hilarion. It was thought that the reason for this is because he performed the steps leading to his transmigration early on and while still human whereas Roselle Gustav only experimented later in life when "He" was a high-Sequence Beyonder,[13] Klein thinks this was why Roselle could only see the gray fog but not enter or control it.
There seems to be a deeper connection between Transmigrators and the Sefirah Castle. As the current owner of the fog enhances his sequence, steps will appear in the fog leading to the door of light. When the owner becomes a demigod, they can see a portion inside the door: There are various groups of people from every race in deep sleep inside cocoons. Three of them are opened cocoons that Klein theorizes corresponds to three transmigrators, him being the third cocoon and Emperor Roselle being the second. The first cocoon belongs to a female, and is later confirmed to be Evernight Goddess.
It seems as though after certain actions are performed or items used, only then can they "escape" the cocoon and enter into the body of a person in the "real world". For example, Roselle got a sliver plate and Klein performed a strange ritual.
It made Klein's transmigration and resurrection possible and granted him powers as he advanced in his sequence. Transmigrators who were released through the Sefirah Castle would soon get contact with the Lord of Mysteries Group, due to the Law of Beyonder Characteristics Convergence.
After promoting to Sequence 2, Klein finally understood that the core of this space is the door of light, which is also the true Sefirah Castle. The space above the gray fog, on the other hand, is the realm of god that comes with the Sefirah Castle.[4]
Power & Abilities[]
The Sefirah Castle has certain properties that enhance Klein's abilities. He is able to remove interference from divination, enhance his own divination power, shield him from high Beyonders and gods, mythical items.
Items that stay in the Sefirah Castle will be slowly tainted by the aura of the Sefirah Castle that can be detected by some existence (for example Arrodes), and ordinary objects can slowly turn into Sealed Artifacts.
The crimson stars in the gray fog are connected to people in the real world. Some people who own certain objects (such as Audrey's bronze mirror and Cattleya's celestial globe) have a stronger connection to the fog and can be easily drawn into the fog.
After Klein made up Mr. Fool's honorific title, the Sefirah Castle is able to receive prayers and save them for Klein to check-up afterwards. Through rituals, people (including himself) can sacrifice items to him and accept items from him with the help of the Sefirah Castle. Klein can also summon his Spirit Body through a similar process.
Klein's resurrection seems also to be due to the power of the Sefirah Castle.
At Sequence 6[]
- After becoming a Sequence 6: Faceless the gray fog has started to truly integrate with Klein's body in the real world.
At Sequence 3[]
- After promoting to Sequence 3: Scholar of Yore, Klein's power on the gray fog is similar to that of a Sequence 2: Miracle Invoker.[14]
- Additionally he can create paper angels of Sequence 2: Miracle Invoker using only the Sefirah Castle's power.[15]
- The layout of the Sefirah Castle is projected onto his spirit body allowing him to perceive it in it's entirety.[16]
- After fully digesting the Scholar of Yore potion, his connection with the Sefirah Castle is further strengthened. His Spirit Body can enter the Sefirah Castle at any time without setting up the Luck Enhancement Ritual but he needs the prayers of each Tarot Club Member as an Anchor to do that.[17]
At Sequence 2[]
- Upon becoming a Sequence 2: Miracle Invoker, Klein truly gains control over the Sefirah Castle as its owner, and is able to bring out more of the Sefirah Castle's power. No longer required to chant the incantation or rely on the Tarot Club members' prayers, he can freely enter the Castle just with his thoughts;[4] however, he is still unable to bring his physical body along.
- Inside the Sefirah Castle, he possesses powers close to the level of a King of Angels, and the authority that he can show includes some portion of Planeswalker and some portion of Trojan Horse of Destiny. Additionally, while in the real world, he can borrow the power of the Sefirah Castle to create an embryonic divine kingdom where he has powers equivalent to a Sequence 1: Attendant of Mysteries of Fool Pathway, but he can't use high-level abilities of Error Pathway and Door Pathway.[18]
At Sequence 1[]
- After becoming a Sequence 1: Attendant of Mysteries, Klein's control over the Sefirah Castle deepens, allowing him to take out items stored in the Castle at any time.[3]
- After becoming a King of Angels who contains two Sequence 1 characteristics, Klein is able to borrow the powers nearing sequence 0 for Fool Pathway as well as most powers under Sequence 0 of Error Pathway and Door Pathway. As the owner of the Sefirah Castle who hasn't fully gained control of the sefirot, he is now considered a king of Kings of Angels and very close to the level of a True God, with the differences in powers between him inside the Sefirah Castle and him in the real world being almost gone.[19]
- The advantage of being inside the Sefirah Castle is that he will be provided a defensive barrier that even a True God can't break.
*The power of the gray fog stems from the power of the Sefirah Castle.
The Half-Fool[]
- According to Klein, if he became a King of Angels who had accommodated the Fool's Uniqueness, his level and strength will at least reach the level of a True God.[20]
At Sequence 0[]
- At Sequence 0, when in control over the Sefirah Castle, both Klein and Amon could use all of the abilities of the Fool, Error and Door pathways, including those gained at godhood, through 'borrowing' the pathway's authorities.[21]
