Tarot Cards on Manhua (2025).
Tarot Cards are the individual cards of the Tarot Deck, a type of playing card deck occasionally used for divination and standard games.
Every Tarot cards in the deck has its own unique meaning. It uses more symbolism and more logical elements for conveniently and accurately interpreting the signs.
In the world of Lord of Mysteries and Circle of Inevitability, Tarot Cards are officially recorded as one of the inventions of Roselle Gustav for divination and card games. He made them based on the Rider–Waite Tarot deck, commonly seen in the 21st century.[1][2][3][4] He also created a unique set when he was Sequence 1: Knowledge Emperor. This set contains his knowledge from the Second Blasphemy Slate, they reference the 22 Major Arcana and are called "Cards of Blasphemy".[5][6]
Tarot Cards are used as codenames for members of the secret Tarot Club.[7][8]
Introduction[]
A typical Tarot deck is comprised of 78 cards that are divided into two main categories:
Major Arcana[]

Major Arcana cards from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck
The Major Arcana is made up of 22 cards numbered from 0 to 21 and is considered the foundation of the Tarot deck.
These cards have different names depending on the scheme used, but common ones include:
- The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Strength, The Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, Judgement, The World, and The Fool.
Minor Arcana[]
The Minor Arcana is composed of 56 cards and is divided into four suits, namely Pentacles (or Coins), Chalices (or Cups), Wands (or Staves), and Swords. Each suit has 14 cards, including four Court Cards (Page, Knight, Queen, and King) and the remaining numbered from Ace to Ten. In English translation uses Chalices, Wands, Swords and Pentacles.[4] The Minor Arcana cards typically provide insights into everyday issues and concerns and offer guidance on how to approach them.

Author's Notes[9][]
- ↑ I originally wanted to give this card to Roselle, laughs, but Black Emperor was given to him. In addition, there aren't any other special enough characters among the other artisans. So I took Bernadette who is from Savant's adjacent pathway and placed her here. I used the metaphor of "Deep Pondering" and "Developing Inner Potentials" from "The High Priestess" card.
- ↑ Standard card reading's Beauty, Gain, and Happiness and reverse interpretation's indulging in happiness, dangerous environment, as well as the opposite of bountiful harvest -- Destruction, Desolation.
- ↑ Roselle is the Tarot Card Representative of the entire Lord of Mysteries Book I
- ↑ 4.0 4.1 In terms of Alger, the card he secretly holds is "The Hierophant" card. It's just that in the beginning (of the Book 1) I was hoping to give him the honor of representing the aspect of "sacrifice" in "The Hanged Man's" metaphorical meanings, so...
- ↑ On one side it's that "Parasitize" can symbolize two person, representing "The Lovers" card. On the other side, I took the reverse interpretation: Hoping to always avoid danger, running away from responsibility.
- ↑ Having the willpower to overcome difficulties.
- ↑ In Cthulhu genre world views, Knowledge equals to disaster, thus equals to danger.
- ↑ I took the cycle of life and its representation of complete, being fulfilled. Born from the earth, and return to earth, restarting once again in a new cycle, it's a complete and full process, very close to what "The World" card symbolizes.
