— Termiboros to Lumian Lee on Circle of Inevitability, Chapter 151 |
Termiboros is an Angel of the Eternal Aeon Pathway under the Circle of Inevitability. He was sealed by The Fool inside Lumian Lee after the failed ritual in Cordu Village.
Background[]
In 1358 of the Fifth Epoch, Termiboros, an Angel from the Cosmos entered the planet via a descent ritual in Cordu Village of the Intis Republic.
The ritual was conducted by a group of people who believed in the Circle of Inevitability and was led by the padre of Cordu Village, Guillaume Bénet. Lumian Lee, the brother of Aurore Lee, was supposed to be an important sacrifice for the ritual. However, due to various factors, the ritual did not go as planned. It ended with Termiboros descending into Cordu Village, and most of the people in Cordu perishing; their bodies merged together and transformed into a Three-Faced Giant at the peak of Cordu.
The Fool's Seal[]
As soon as he materialized in Cordu at the ritual’s culmination, Termiboros got sealed in Lumian Lee's left chest by The Fool. Lumian speculated that Termiboros himself was oblivious to the intricate details of what happened.[2]
The seal imprisoning Termiboros is very severe. All he can do is observe the outside world and influence Lumian's judgment and choices slightly.[3] Being an Angel, he can still influence the external world, albeit very limitedly.[4]
Moreover, he is the source of Lumian's boon powers of the Eternal Aeon Pathway. Each time Lumian conducts a ritual to advance in the Eternal Aeon Pathway, Termiboros is forced to grant him boons, thus becoming marginally weaker over time.[2]
History[]
Volume 2: Lightseeker[]
Termiboros, who was in a sealed state, first revealed himself when Lumian Lee advanced to Sequence 8 Alms Monk of the Eternal Aeon Pathway. He tried to tempt Lumian into breaking the seal, in return for resurrecting Aurore. However, this only enraged Lumian, who just learned that the entirety of Cordu was wiped out as a result of his descent ritual.[5]
Later, during Lumian's therapy session with Madam Susie and Madam Justice, he realized that he had completely forgotten about his previous encounter with Termiboros. According to Madam Susie, Termiboros had influenced Lumian using some unknown means. She advised Lumian that by continuously assessing his condition and consistently seeking guidance on his actions, this could be largely prevented.[4]
When Lumian observed Charlie Collent's luck using his Eternal Aeon Pathway abilities, he saw that it had turned red, implying life-threatening catastrophe within two to three days. Lumian believed that Charlie was about to be attacked by Susanna Matisse, and considered performing the 'Luck Transference' ritual of a Sequence 8 Alms Monk on him. This turned out to be a ploy of Termiboros, and the moment Lumian abandoned the notion of conducting the ritual, Charlie's luck improved.[6]
In the Tree of Shadow incident, Susanna Matisse, high priestess of the Bliss Society, revealed her plans to sacrifice both Lumian and the Angel within him to their deity, the Mother Tree of Desire. To escape this predicament which neither wanted to fall into, Lumian and Termiboros briefly co-operated. Soon after, when Lumian decided to rescue the people affected by the Tree of Shadow, Termiboros intervened by giving a speech about the futility of his actions to Lumian. This was promptly ignored.[7][8]
After that incident was resolved, Lumian realized that many of Termiboros' previous actions and co-operations were not what it seemed at first, and that he was deceived by him. Madam Magician also informed Lumian that Termiboros likely had an ally hiding the shadows, doing his will.[3]
Volume 3: Conspirer[]
When Lumian was going through the deceased Flameng's remains, Termiboros urged him to take the 'Earth Blood Ore' he had, claiming it could assist Lumian while eventually entering Fourth Epoch Trier.[3]
During Lumian's initiation ritual into the Iron and Blood Cross Order, Termiboros advised Lumian in order to prevent him from being corrupted by the force behind the ritual.[9]
When Baron Brignais' godson, Ludwig, went missing, Termiboros led Lumian to him, claiming it was a "stroke of fate" and that it was "destined".[10]
In Underground Trier, when Lumian encountered Monette, one of Amon's avatars, Termiboros, who apparently sensed "a looming threat", told Lumian to relocate and seek angelic protection from the The Fool.[11]
During Poufer Sauron's game of King's Pie, Termiboros informed Lumian to change his selected piece to another, without giving any further reasons.[12]
When the Hanged Man Alger Wilson offered Lumian a chance to explore his ship, the Blue Avenger, Termiboros held back Lumian by telling him that it was "dangerous".[13]
Under the influence of Red Angel Medici, The Hostel ritual to open the door to Fourth Epoch Trier was developed with Lumian who harbored an Angel within him as the key element. The status and strength of Termiboros was essential to open the door.[14] While inside Fourth Epoch Trier, Termiboros gave some survival advice to Lumian.[15]

— Amon to Lumian Lee on Circle of Inevitability, Chapter 875 |
The released being turned out to be Amon, who had long since replaced the real Termiboros after killing him.
During the descent ritual in Cordu Village, The Fool's aura on Lumian Lee, stimulated by the surrounding environment and his intense emotional fluctuations, successfully attracted The Fool's attention. As a result, Termiboros was severely wounded, and together with the soul fragments of Aurore Lee and the villagers of Cordu, was sealed into Lumian Lee's body.
During this process, Amon had voluntarily joined them, stealing Termiboros' fate and identity before He could recover, killing Him and reducing Him to a Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristic of the Inevitability Pathway. Before Lumian Lee became an Ascetic, Amon had already absorbed the Beyonder characteristic, completing the pathway switch, fully replacing Termiboros, only lacking the final ritual.[16]
Trivia[]
- As of the recent years of the Fifth Epoch, there have been five incidents where Angel-level beings almost breached the planet's barrier, with Termiboros being the only successful case.[17]
- The first time Termiboros displayed emotions of any sort was when he became anxious after facing Amon's avatar in Underground Trier.[11]
