I believe I’m not the only transmigrator in this world.

Roselle Gustav in his Diary
on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 790

In the world of Lord of Mysteries, Transmigrators refer to beings who have been transferred from their original bodies to another one located in a different place and time. They are different from the Survivors, those who survived the fall of the Modern Era.

All instances of Transmigration were machined by the Great Old One known as the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings as a part of his resurrection process in case he perished.

Because of their long slumber, certain advancement rituals or acting methods requiring long periods of time to complete can become instant such as the Scholar of Yore's ritual and the Unaging's acting.

Description[]

History[]

In the Pre-Epoch period, also known as the Modern Era from which the Transmigrators originate, two slumbering Great Old Ones: the Primordial God Almighty and the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings, were gradually preparing for their imminent awakening.

As part of a revival plan in case he perished, the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings captured and sealed over a hundred people from the Modern Era inside cocoons of light in the Sefirah Castle. If he perished, the Sefirah Castle was to release the Transmigrators trapped inside it in the future, allowing the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings to resurrect inside their bodies.

However, due to an unknown interference, the original revival plan was disrupted, allowing the first two Transmigrators to not immediately be replaced.[1]

Following the Celestial Worthy perishing in the First Epoch, the Sefirah Castle released its first Transmigrator, Amanises, in the Second Epoch. The second Transmigrator, Huang Tao, was released on 1143 of the Fifth Epoch.

After two consecutive failures, Sefirah Castle experienced a certain change and fixed the mechanism before releasing the third Transmigrator, Zhou Mingrui on 1349 of the Fifth Epoch.[2] The Evernight Goddess prevented the Celestial Worthy's revival in him by using the corruption in Antigonus to indirectly affect Sefirah Castle. She 'Tampered' the Sequence 1 Attendant of Mysteries Beyonder Characteristic stored in Sefirah Castle, a vital element for the Celestial Worthy's revival, and sent it to the Forsaken Land of the Gods.[3][2]

In 1352 of the Fifth Epoch, before he entered a state of slumber, Klein Moretti released the rest of the people inside the cocoons. They flew out of Sefirah Castle and landed in the real world into the bodies of those who had just died.[4] Some of those new Transmigrators went on to form a secret organization called the Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society.[5]

Release Mechanism of Sefirah Castle[]

Based on Klein’s observation, the door of light in Sefirah Castle didn’t have any intelligence. It was operating based on pure instinct. This also meant that as long as the conditions were met, it would catalyze a cocoon and deliver the soul inside to a specific target’s body. Klein guessed that there were probably two conditions that needed to be met.

First, there mustn’t be any other Transmigrators prior, or the Transmigrator had already been deemed to have failed or died. Second, the “calling out” of a certain object, item, or ritual. For instance, Klein himself had followed the Antigonus Family's Notebook to perform a dark divination.[6]

After the birth of a “Transmigrator,” their fate would be twisted to make a connection with the pathways of the Lord of Mysteries group. The first Transmigrator, Amanises, became a subsidiary god of the Ancient God Flegrea, who had the authority of the Fool Pathway.

In Intis where the second Transmigrator, Huang Tao was active, due to the Secret Order's presence, he got to know Zaratul, an Angel of the Fool Pathway early on. The third Transmigrator, Zhou Mingrui was involved in the case brought about by the Antigonus Family's Notebook, and quickly had the opportunity to choose the Seer potion.[7][8]

Klein's Speculations[]

After witnessing the three cracked cocoons above the door of light in Sefirah Castle for the first time, Klein realized that two other Transmigrators had emerged from Sefirah Castle before him.[9]

Initially, Klein suspected either Soniathrym who invented chopsticks or the Ancient Sun God to be one of the two Transmigrators.[10] However, it was later revealed that the Ancient Sun God did not emerge from one of the cocoons but rather a Survivor from the Chaos Sea as part of Primordial God Almighty’s revival plan. After Klein advanced to Scholar of Yore, he was able to gather from the clues left behind on the cocoons that one of the Transmigrators was female. Klein suspected her to be the Evernight Goddess.[8] This speculation was proven to be correct in Volume 8.[1]

Book One Transmigrators[]

Amanises[]

Amanises is the first Transmigrator released from Sefirah Castle. "She" was a European lady[11] who was part of the higher management in a big company.[12]

"She" was released from Sefirah Castle in the Second Epoch, transmigrating into the body of an Angelic level Demonic Wolf[13] of the Darkness Pathway under Flegrea. According to "Her", the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings failed to revive inside "Her" because of unknown interferences.[1]

"She" cooperated with the Ancient Sun God on a few different matters. Sometime in the late Second Epoch, "She" promoted to Sequence 0 Darkness of the Darkness Pathway, and by the year 1352 of the Fifth Epoch, "She" obtained most of the pieces to gradually become an Eternal Darkness.

Huang Tao[]

Huang Tao is the second Transmigrator released from Sefirah Castle. "He" was a Chinese national who worked in the marketing/sales field.[12] After obtaining a mysterious silver plate, "He" was pulled and sealed inside Sefirah Castle.

"He" was released from Sefirah Castle in 1143 of the Fifth Epoch, transmigrating into the body of Roselle Gustav, a member of a declining noble family of the Intis Republic.

Aligning "Himself" with the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, "He" advanced along the Paragon Pathway, utilizing "His" knowledge of the Modern Era to become a great pioneer known throughout the world. "He" left behind a diary written in Simplified Chinese, which became of great use to future Transmigrators.

At Sequence 1, "He" switched to the neighboring Hermit Pathway, becoming a Sequence 1 Knowledge Emperor. To rid "Himself" from the corruption of the Mother Goddess of Depravity and to prepare for the coming Apocalypse, "He" promoted to Sequence 0 Black Emperor of the non-neighboring Black Emperor Pathway.[14]

"He" is currently perished after Project Vortex in 1359 of the Fifth Epoch. "He" was the second Transmigrator to directly access (although temporarily) "His" Sequence 0's associated Sefirah, the Nation of Disorder.

Zhou Mingrui[]

Zhou Mingrui is the third Transmigrator released from Sefirah Castle and is the main protagonist of Lord of Mysteries. He was a Chinese national who worked in the IT field.[12] After conducting a Luck Enhancement Ritual he found in an old book, he was pulled and sealed inside Sefirah Castle.

He was released from Sefirah Castle in 1349 of the Fifth Epoch, transmigrating into the body of Klein Moretti, a citizen of the Loen Kingdom who had just graduated from university. The Celestial Worthy was supposed to revive inside him at the moment of transmigration, but failed due to the intervention of the Evernight Goddess.

He got into contact with the Church of the Evernight Goddess early on, and following the advice written in Roselle's Diary, chose to advance along the Fool Pathway. He established the Tarot Club, a mysterious secret organization which would go on to gather great influence.

By 1352, within three years of transmigrating, he was promoted to Sequence 0 Fool of the Fool Pathway and then barely became a Half Lord of Mysteries. In order to deal with the awakening will of the Celestial Worthy inside him, he went into a deep slumber. He was the first Transmigrator to directly access his Sequence 0's associated Sefirah, the Sefirah Castle.
