The Trunsoest Brass Book is a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact formed from the Uniqueness of the Justiciar Pathway, that has been contaminated by one of the Sefirot, the Nation of Disorder. It has the ability to create and enforce new laws, altering reality to some degree. Breaching its laws will result in punishment.

The Evernight Goddess called this Sealed Artifact the Book of Rules.

Appearance

A book bound by thin brass sheets, it's pages are similarly made of brass, the first half displays almost all of the world’s underlying rules, while the second half is blank. The words are colored like mercury.

History

Lord of Mysteries

Due to the coincidence of him being in Belltaine City where the Trunsoest Brass Book is being activated, Klein suspected that this sealed artifact may have a connection to a Sefirah and is attracting the Sefirah Castle to some extent. This speculation turned out to be true, as it was written in the Book that it originates from the Justiciar Uniqueness that had been corrupted by the Sefirah Nation of Disorder.

Temporarily sealing this artifact requires it to create a series of laws that will contradict each other and fall into a paradox. Klein took advantage of this and overloaded 0-02 with the historical projection of the Tudor-Trunsoest Empire's underground structure (which is filled with the various irregular characteristics of the Black Emperor Pathway). Before it could write down the law to distance all living-beings from itself, Arianna concealed the law and threw it to Klein. He then quickly teleported to the Hornacis Mountain Range and sealed it in the Foggy Town where the mad Antigonus was trapped. In there, the book fell into an infinite loop of creating and erasing laws due to Antigonus' power of "Grafting" and "Fooling". Although the book had been sealed, it might still be able to influence the real world.

During Klein's Apotheosis Ritual, the book was used by the Genie sealed in the Magic Wishing Lamp to restrain Amon's avatars and the Celestial Worthy during Klein's promotion. Later, it was brought to the Sefirah Castle and used in the final showdown between Klein and Amon.

Circle of Inevitability

After the Dream Festival of 1358, Madam Magician sent Lumian Lee a Brass Charm capable of channeling the power of the Trunsoest Brass Book.

In The Fool's Dream, the Trunsoest Brass Book was placed for sale at 9 million in Star Dream Provisions Store, a store run by the Evernight Goddess.

Power & Downside

Power

This book possesses living characteristics, but most of the time, it’s at a very low level. It hates distorted and ugly rules, and it hates having its loopholes found.

The first half of the book displays almost all the underlying rules, while the second half is blank. It needs to be filled in autonomously.

Once there are no restrictions, it will naturally set up laws with certain biases for the surrounding areas and strictly enforce it. During this process, it will change and correct the rules based on the feedback.

Non-offenders cannot be punished, and immunity holders cannot be affected by the laws. The rules that it creates have to be publicized or informed to the masses before having them take effect.

If there are contradictions in the laws that can’t be corrected, or if the pages are all filled without being able to form a sufficiently airtight system of rules, the Trunsoest Brass Book will produce a new line at the boundary between the first and second half: "All the following rules are ineffective."

After this line takes form, the rules in the second half will disappear and the pages will return to a blank slate.

After the second half is completely blank, the clause "All the following rules are ineffective." will be erased, and the Trunsoest Brass Book will repeat its previous actions until there is a set of laws that covers all aspects.

Downside

It cumulatively writes new laws, eventually creating a system wherein one would be punished regardless of what they do, that includes the user himself.

Only the immunity can keep the user safe while 0-02 is active; however, the process of obtaining immunity still remains unknown. As the laws gradually becomes stricter, 0-02's living characteristics will deepen.

Once a set of law that can interfere with all aspects takes form, the Trunsoest Brass Book will completely come alive. It will possess true intelligence, and has the ability to modify the world’s underlying rules to a certain extent.
