ā Klein raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. on Lord of Mysteries, Chapter 1328 |
Utopia is a marionette town built by Klein Moretti an essential part of his advancement ritual to promote to Sequence 1 Attendant of Mysteries.
The town is located on an uninhabited island that is close to but not on the safe shipping lanes of the Berserk Sea. It has an approximate population of 5,000 people, all of which are made of Klein's marionettes.[1]
According to the storyline Klein has set for the town, it is later destroyed by natural disasters.[2] In reality, this town is destroyed by the raid of Zaratul, and the battle of Adam versus Lord of Storms.[3]
Klein created the town in the corresponding area in the Spirit World with the help of Magic Wishing Lamp.[4]
After the Destruction of Utopia, the place was abandoned and now seems to be corrupted by various powers.[5]
Infrastructure[]
Utopia is a small but well-functioning town, the buildings of the town are stone-wood mixed, no more than 4 stories high, the architectural style is similar to Desi Bay of the Loen Kingdom.
The town has residential houses, a library, police station, telegraph office, town council, a small hospital, candy factory, water & gas supply companies, steam train station, parallel railroad and plantations outside the town. The streets are paved with cement or brick.
In the center of the town, next to the town central square is a Church of the Evernight Goddess named Saint Arianna Cathedral.
About 3 kilometers away from the town, there is a small-scale harbor, with two docks, five warehouses, a port hotel, a restaurant, a police station, a bar, a lighthouse, and a stationary Harbor Marine Barracks.[1]
Origin[]
The town was Klein's choice from his three ideas of building a marionette town, taking into account the influence of various external factors, his morality and his Beyonder ability, the safest choice is to build the marionette town on an uninhabited island that is far from the safe channel and is sufficiently hidden and use the Sefirah Castle for anti-divination and anti-prophetic arrangement.
At the same time, Klein will rely on the 'curtain' to "graft" some nodes of highways, rivers, and railways outside the marionettes town, making this one of the stops for some people. This town, however, cannot be kept completely secret, but after the grotesque phenomenon spreads and may attract the attention of Zaratul and Amon, Klein can easily lift the original "graft" and change the "entry" irregularly.
Under this strategy, only the "entry" is transferred, not the marionette town itself. The effects of various interactions in the spiritual realm can be retained without being interrupted, and the ritual can be advanced steadily.
Of course, this kind of scheme also has a lot of problems, that is, the field of interaction is limited, and it cannot produce all-round daily influences. In addition, the frequency and intensity of interaction will not be too high. This means that Klein has to spend more than half a year or even more than a year performing the ritual before he can advance.[2]
Background[]
Utopia is a small town that's not too different from other small towns in the land of Loen Kingdom. Be it infrastructure style, race, or folk customs, all is adopted from Loen itself.
Because it is located in the unsafe passage of the Berserk Sea, the weather here is unstable and often rain or storm. As there's no meteorologist, most people who visit the town from land won't find out the real reason behind the unstable weather. The rain and storm weather would happen too often that the citizens develop a habit to bring an umbrella or a raincoat layered by Downing tree sap so that they won't be sick.
The town doesn't have local newspapers. The newspaper that was sold in town was often newspaper that originated from Desi Bay or told the news about the sea.
Most citizens here are optimistic and enthusiastic about life, and living their life to the fullest they can be.[6] Most of them are also of lower-class citizens that are either semi-illiterate or illiterate, where they can only rely on their experience in life to live a miserable life.[1] The citizens are able to leave the town and visit another town all around the world due to Klein's interference.
There's only one religion and one church here, which is The Church of the Evernight Goddess. This is an anomaly in itself as Utopia Town was supposed to be in the jurisdiction of Loen Kingdom, and the small town in the Loen Kingdom will have at the very least two churches.
Traditions[]
Musical Tour[]
The parade usually happen on the rest days of Utopia Citizens. It's a parade where a band of amateurs musicians toured around the town from the town square to Saint Arianna Cathedral near the town square. The musicians who played in the band are civil servants, law enforcement officers, solicitors, professional policemen, school teachers, candy factory workers, shop owners, etc. Among them, the middle to upper class are usually responsible for more complicated instruments while the lower class is responsible for simple instruments.
During the parade, they'll play musical instruments such as lyre, harmonica, violin, etc., dancing, and singing, while also encouraging other citizens and visitors to join them in the joy of parades. This paesedes are their expressions of gratitude and love for being able to live their life.[6]
Wedding[]
Because the town only has one church and religion, all wedding ceremony held in St. Arianna Church. Their marriage bestowed upon the couple an equal relationship, standing and status. This was expressed by the couple bowing to each other when the priest announced that they're officially husband and wife.
