Lightseeker is the second volume of the Circle of Inevitability written by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving. It shares the same title as the sixth volume of the Lord of Mysteries.

Title Meaning

This volume focused on the idea that humans were small and powerless in front of gods, yet they would still pursue the light.

Synopsis

The events at Cordu Village have left Lumian Lee mentally damaged. At the Magician's request, he goes to Trier to join a secret organization and receive mental treatment by two psychologists.

In early May, Lumian Lee, using the pseudonym Ciel, arrived at Trier and rented Room 207 at the Auberge du Coq Doré Hotel. He gets a mission assigned by Magician to meet Osta Trul in the Catacombs de Trier and gain his trust.

During his life in Trier, Lumian experienced mystical events, was involved in battles and gained the trust of Mr. K and Brignais thus became part of the Aurora Order and Savoie Mob. Together with Franca Roland, Jenna, and other friends, Lumian lives the life of a double agent, fighting enemies, receiving mental treatment, and searching for the truth behind the events of Cordu Village.

Early May, Thursday, 1358	110-113	Lumian Lee, using the pseudonym Ciel, arrived in Trier and rented Room 207 at the Auberge du Coq Doré Hotel. He contacted the Magician through messenger and received her reply later on.
Friday, 1358	114-119	Lumian went to the Catacombs de Trier to meet Osta Trul and earn his trust as a mission assigned by The Magician. Brignais caught sight of Lumian and recognized him as a wanted criminal with a 3,000 verl d'or bounty. Consequently, he dispatched his people to tail Lumian. After returning to the hotel, Lumian performed the Summoning Dance and encountered a powerful and peculiar spirit.
Saturday, 1358	119-125	Lumian hired Anthony Reid, the information broker, to search for Guillaume Bénet, Pualis de Roquefort, and others. The person sent by Baron Brignais was captured by Lumian. Lumian went to Salle de Bal Brise to meet Baron Brignais. Lumian met Osta again and learned about his sequence and the gathering held by Mr. K. On the way back from the Catacombs de Trier, he encountered the Montsouris ghost. Feeling the need for protection, Lumian sent a letter to The Magician, and later he decided to pray to The Fool. He received the Angel Embrace. During the night, Lumian was suffocated by unknown entities. He used the Fallen Mercury to swap his own fate.
Sunday, 1358	125-128	Lumian received a belated reply from The Magician. He began searching for a suitable prey to exchange their fate with the fate of encountering the Montsouris ghost, in the Fallen Mercury. Lumian headed to Mason Café in Quartier du Jardin Botanique (Botanical Garden District) to meet with a psychologist.
Monday, 1358	129-132	Lumian targeted and tailed behind Margot. Later he killed Margot by using Fallen Mercury with the fate of encountering the Montsouris ghost.
Tuesday, 1358	133-138	Charlie became suspected of murdering Madam Alice. He was arrested by the police. Lumian pretend to be Charlie's lawyer. He investigated by performing the Summoning Dance to summon Madam Alice's spirit. Lumian summoned a spirit world creature to write him a letter about Susanna Matisse and Charlie's case and sent it to the church. Lumian tried to contact Hela, the vice president of the Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society, and received her reply letter.
Wednesday, 1358	138-143	Lumian attended Mr. K's gathering with Osta Trul Charlie was released from the police station. At night, he dreamt of Susanna again. Lumian fought Susanna. Lumian sends a letter to The magician and asks about Susanna.
Thursday, 1358	143-147	Lumian takes Charlie to go pawn the necklace Madam Alice gave him Lumian tries to gain Mr. K’s trust Lumian joins the Savoie Mob and pawns Charlie’s necklace
Friday, 1358	148-158	Lumian obtains the Alms Monk boon Termiboros awakens inside Lumian’s body and tells Lumian about Above the Sequence. Lumian tells Charlie to be careful because he will get into a little trouble. Fitz has been conned. He asked Lumian for help to get his money back. Maxime tells Lumian about the Savoie Mob. Lumian asked Louis and Osta Trul for help in getting the ingredients for the Propechy Spell ritual. Lumian meets Monsieur Ive at the Théatre de l'Ancienne Cage à Pigeons. Because he felt strange, Lumian followed where Monsieur Ive went.
Saturday, 1358	159-173	Lumian obtained the Prophecy Spell ritual ingredients from Osta Trul. Osta Trul tells Lumian about aquatic monsters. He followed Lumian to see him fight against aquatic monsters and obtain additional materials for the Prophecy Spell ritual. Jenna is kidnapped by Hedsey. Lumian comes to save Jenna and manages to kill Hedsey. He used Hedsey's corpse to perform the Prophecy Spell ritual. Brignais gave Lumian a mission to attack members of the Poison Spur Mob. Lumian targets "Hammer" Ait and manages to kill him. He took Ait's body to Baron Brignais. Inspector Travis Everett comes to Baron Brignais to investigate.
Sunday, 1358	174-184	Lumian meets Gardner Martin. He sold the Pugilist Beyonder characteristics to Gardner Martin for 18,000 verl d'or. Because of Lumian's achievements, Gardner Martin gave Lumian the task of guarding the Salle de Bal Brise. Louis and Sarkota are assigned to help Lumian. Lumian meets Hidden Blade, Franca Roland. Lumian informed Mr. K and Madame Magician. Lumian went to 19 Rue Scheer on Avenue du Boulevard and met Mr. K in the basement. Lumian bought Mystery Prying Glasses for 15,000 verl d'or. Lumian learns of his nickname “Lion” Ciel.
	185-191	“Rat” Christo came to ask Lumian for help with missing lot in the subway Lumian and Franca explore the subway looking for clues of the missing lot. Lumian and Franca met an illusion of Fanca when he was a man. Lumian and Franca somehow enter the mirror world. Lumian uses the mysterious glasses to find a way out but saw a creature in a puddle. Lumian and Franca manage to get out through a mirror that was at the bottom of the puddle. Franca discovers that the real Erkin died and was supplanted by his reflection.
	192-198	Franca confronts “Rat” Christo asking what was in the lot that had to do with mysticism. Lumian went to Théatre de l'Ancienne Cage à Pigeons for the result of the Prophecy Spell ritual. Lumian used the luck-enhancing ritual to transfer a tramp's misfortune to a gold coin. Monsieur Ive picked up the coin and exchanged his luck with that of the tramp. Policemen went to the warehouses of the “Rat” Christo catching the mirror clones. Lumian gives Franca and Anthony Reid the job of guarding the Avenue du Marché for the possible appearance of Louis Lund.
	199-206	Lumian makes a scene at the Valiant Café in front of Superintendent Everett. Lumian went to receive therapy from “Madame Susie”. Lumian discovers that he had forgotten to talk to Termiboros. Justice provides a psychological trigger for Lumian not to hear the True Creator's honest name by changing it to “that being”. Lumian interrogates Louis Lund.
	208-214	Lumian checks Charlie's luck and sees that he will face a catastrophe. Lumian warns Charlie with a disguise on and recommends him to go to the cathedral. Charlie disappears, Louis tells Lumian that he saw him leave with him. They meet the other Lumian (Ive). Lumian and Franca learn about the Society of the Moment, the Society of Narcissus and the Bliss Society of which Ive belonged to the last one besides that Susanna will recover all her strength in two days and will move away from the altar where she was recovering strength. It is discovered that Jenna studies acting at the Théatre de l'Ancienne Cage à Pigeons.
	215-218	Jenna, Lumian and Franca review their information about the Théatre de l'Ancienne Cage à Pigeons. Franca says “After getting to know him better, I discovered that he is the younger brother of one of my relatives” referring to Lumian and Muggle . Jenna buys a necklace for 30 verl d'or to emphasize that she is a believer of the Eternal Blazing Sun The Théatre de l'Ancienne Cage à Pigeons was closed by the civil officials and the faith of the members of the theater is questioned. Angoulême de François offers a civilian position to Charlie. Charlie leaves the Auberge du Coq Doré Hotel.
	219-221	Lumian met with Madame Pualis where she tested his skills. Lumian remembers some things about Cordu that he had forgotten. Lumian tells Gabriel that he will help him to get his script accepted. Gabriel reads the now bound Nathan Lopp his script “Lightseeker”.
	222-228	Hugues Artois is accused of being a traitor. Lumian exchanges the fate of a tramp about to die for the fate of meeting the ghost of Montsouris. Ciel interrogates a member of the Poison Spur Mob (Alsai) with the truth serum. Franca gives Lumian the Ring of Punishment. Lumian infiltrates disguised as Alsai, Franca being invisible and then Lumian uses the punishment ring on “Black Scorpion” Roger. Franca kills Castina, the “Short-legged Candlestick”, "Baldy” Harman. “Black Scorpion” Roger zombifies Castina and Harman. Lumian uses Mr. K's finger to cure the weakness set by black scorpion. Lumian saw a shadow that he identified as Mr. K. Lumian finds people locked in the basement of the place where the fight with “Black Scorpion” Roger took place. Angoulême de François arrives at the scene and finds a seed in the abdomen of the statue. Gabriel tells Lumian that his script was accepted.
	229-234	Lumian helps Flameng (the lunatic) change his fate after having met the ghost of Montsouris. Lumian writes to the lady mage to ask if she possessed the formula for the Pyromaniac potion and the Beyonder characteristic. Flameng commits suicide. The cleaning lady Elodie calls Jenna by name, revealing she is Jenna's mother. Lumian prays to the Fool for protection. Mr. K tells Lumian the honorific name of his master, the True Creator. Lumian obtains the formula for Pyromaniac. During the banquet at the MP's office Lumian meets Gardner and asks him to keep an eye on the supplementary ingredients for the Pyromaniac's potion. Lumian gave an advance payment of 26, 000 verl d'or to Miss Magician.
	235-239	Ruhr falls ill with a possibly mystical disease. Lumian uses the healing concoction on Ruhr Ruhr dies. Madame Michel commits suicide in front of Ruhr's corpse. Franca identifies pathogenic spirits in Ruhr's handkerchief. Franca used divination to find out the origin of the handkerchief which was a member of the Hugues Artois campaign team, The police arrive to check the corpses and discover the name of the handkerchief's owner “Tybalt”. There is an explosion at the Goodville Chemical Factory.
	239-244	Lumian uses the rest of the healing agent on Jenna's mother. The authorities use mysticism to extinguish the fire. Gardner sends Lumian the supplementary ingredients of the Pyromaniac's potion. Lumian advance to Pyromaniac. Lumian sees Tybalt Jacquesen in the parliament. Lumian disguises himself as Bono Goodville and infiltrates the parliament. Lumian beats Tybalt Jacquesen and kills him using Fire Infusion
	245-251	Elodie jumps from the hospital building ending her life. Lumian, Franca and Jenna infiltrate Bono Goodville's house and interogate him. After Lumian, Franca and Jenna leeaveAngoulême, Valentine and the half-breed Imre interrogate Bono Goodville again. Jenna's brother has a mental breakdown. Charlotte Calvino stabs Lumian with a dagger made of tree branches.
