Zedus is an Angel and a Boon Recipient of the Moon Pathway.[2]
Lumian Lee made a contract with “His” dismembered body part, the Abscessed Hand, when he was a Sequence 7 Contractee.
Appearance[]
Initial Appearance:
A decaying bluish-black severed hand. It loomed twice the size of human palm, with the potential to crush a human skull.
Complete Appearance:
It had a delicate, handsome face with thick, long black eyelashes. Beneath the soft, pale eyelids was a pair of beautiful, crystalline scarlet eyes. It had a flawless but slightly feminine face. Under the high nose bridge, the just-right lips parted slightly to reveal clean white teeth. The body was entirely white yet clearly muscular and perfectly proportioned.
Background[]
The Abscessed Hand's origins are unclear. The Tarot Club suspects it was once an ancient Vampire of Angel rank before it died. However, no record of such a being was found among the Sanguines. At some point, the Abscessed Hand's body was dismembered into various pieces and scattered.[3]
Its hand continued to exist as a Spirit World creature, eventually becoming a legend across the southern and central regions of the world. These legends began appearing at the beginning of the Fifth Epoch. It was known to leave a trail of lifeless bodies in its wake. Madam Magician's accounts classified its danger level as common, limited by the summoning ritual's rules.[4]
"He" and "His" twin Omebella were originally Mythical Creatures of the Moon and Mother Pathway respectively, born from the union of Primordial God Almighty and the sentient Brood Hive in the mid-First Epoch.[5]
History[]
When Lumian Lee became a Sequence 7 Contractee with the ability to form contracts with various creatures, he selected the Abscessed Hand as one of his contracts. The condition it put in return was for Lumian to locate the rest of its body parts, failing which godhood would evade him indefinitely.[6]
Following Lumian's report on Hisoka’s apparent identity, his speculations, and the issues surrounding Tizamo Town,[7] Madam Magician offered him two rewards: the potion formula for the Iron-blooded Knight, or her assistance in divining clues about the remaining parts of the Abscessed Hand’s body.[8] Lumian opted for the latter choice.[9]
According to her divination, the rest of its body was divided into three parts. One was suspected to be in the Underworld, and the other two in the City of Exiles, Morora. She also discovered that nearly three months ago, the two parts currently in Morora were elsewhere, leading her to suspect it had been deliberately retrieved and placed there by the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom in an effort to force Lumian to visit Morora.[10]
Lumian later found and retrieved the left half of its body which was in the possession of an undead Demon in the Underworld.[11][12]
One of the body parts in Morora was found by Lumian in the Carnivore Bar run by Bainar. The decayed corpse with regenerative properties was being used to make steaks and sold to customers. According to Albus Medici, eating it would gradually give some self-healing ability, make them stronger on moonlit nights, and learn some dark spells. But in return, self-control would significantly decrease, intelligence would regress, and nightmares would be frequent.[13]
Lumian recovered the final part, its head, from the underground mausoleum of Morora. It was originally in the possession of Albus Medici, who later threw it away during battle.[14]
During a battle against Julie in the underground Mirror World of Morora, Lumian allowed the Abscessed Hand's body parts he had gathered to merge.[15] Sensing this, the Abscessed Hand broke through the Mirror World from the outside and began its physical resurrection. Despite facing the combined attacks of Julie and Wanak, it continued this process. Soon, it began to transform into a female, but was stalled, as if missing some crucial element to succeed.[16]

It then proceeded to rampage around, targeting everything near it, and was only stopped when Julie invoked the Primordial Demoness' descent using one of Cheek's Rings.[17] It was later found acting as a puppet under the control of 0-01. On seeing Lumian, it called out Omebella's name.[18]
When Lumian touched the Gift of the Land in the New City of Silver, the contract mark corresponding to the Abscessed Hand had an abnormal reaction, bringing a stinging pain and coolness. When he touched it again, he heard a woman's gentle yet painful voice saying the name "Zedus".[2]
Trivia[]
- Upon arriving in Morora, Lumian began referring to it as Hand Bro, partly in jest and partly to convey a sense of "closeness." He hoped this familiarity would prevent it from attacking him once fully restored, especially considering the potential dangers ahead.[1]
